💢RYBAR reports of the Russian military operations in Ukraine from October 27 to 29

💢Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) attempted to launch kamikaze drone attacks on Russian territory, including the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). However, no significant damage was caused.

▪️On Sunday, there were several strikes in southern Russian regions. One drone was intercepted by air defense systems over Rostov-on-Don on Sunday afternoon. Additionally, the Afipka NPZ oil refinery in the Krasnodar region was targeted.

▪️At the same time, a large-scale attack on Crimea took place. Russian anti-aircraft gunners and naval aviation from the Black Sea Fleet intercepted approximately 35 drones approaching the peninsula.

▪️ The settlements in the Belgorod region have also come under attack and have suffered heavy shelling.

▪️ South of Bakhmut, the AFU managed to cross the railway to the north of Klishchiivka. However, after facing resistance, they were forced to retreat to their original positions.

▪️ South of the Avdiivka fortified area, Russian troops continue their attempts to reach the Khimik district. The offensive is advancing from the Donetsk Ring Road and the forest plantations from the Opytne side.

▪️ In the Vremivka sector, the fighting for Balka Hrusheva, northeast of Pryyutne, is ongoing.

▪️ Ukrainian units attempted to break through the defense of Russian troops between Kopani and Robotyne but were unsuccessful.

▪️ In the Kherson direction, two enemy assault groups once again attempted to break through to Pishchanivka. However, the AFU offensive was foiled by Russian artillery strikes, and Ukrainian units were forced to evacuate to the right bank.

▪️Near the former Antonovskiy Bridge, Russian soldiers destroyed one of the boats carrying AFU troops.

▪️ To the east, in Krynky, the AFU managed to establish a foothold. The center of the village is currently held by several dozen members of Ukrainian units. The clearing of the settlement is challenging due to heavy enemy artillery fire and electronic warfare operations.

💢UK defense ministry: Russia has likely lost at least four long range Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) launchers to Ukrainian strikes over the last week. On 26 October 2023, Russian media reported that three Russian SA-21 launchers had been destroyed in the Luhansk region. Ukrainian sources reported additional Russian air defence losses in Crimea. Russia has long prioritised ample, high-tech, long range SAM systems as a key component of its military strategy. The recent losses highlight that Russia's Integrated Air Defence System continues to struggle against modern precision strike weapons and will highly likely increase the already significant strain on remaining systems and operators. There is a realistic possibility that as Russia replaces the destroyed systems in Ukraine it will weaken its air defences in other operational areas.
