how to actually learn modded minecraft????

everyone just say, play nomifactory, play gtnh, play dj2 e2e etc etc

but when i play this modpacks it ends up being a complete mess as i barely know any mods and because i see i can do too much its overwhelming


for instance my monifactory playthrough is at lv and i have no idea about contraptions or how to automate things and everywhere i look people at this stage know how to automate everything how to be efficient and i have no clue literally how to do any of this


i want modded minecraft to get fun for me bc i see people play and im like wow thats so fun but then i play and realize i dont know shit and i get bored

How frowned upon is it to add mods to modpacks?

Cuz I'm currently playing Beyond Depths and I really want to add in Botania, Witchery, and Immersive Engineering at the very least. Probably also Ars Neuvou, Occultism, and Mekanism. Just so I have a few mods in here aside from Create that are familiar to me lol


Legit it advertises itself on "Over 400 mods!" but 90% of those mods just make the game look prettier or add new structures/dimensions/bosses. Which, nothing wrong with that, it is a very pretty modpack and very well-designed as an exploration and boss fighting pack. I just miss some of my automation stuff that I'm more familiar with.

I eventually just resorted to killing it in creative mode because holy hell does the game not only not explain how you're actually supposed to beat the boss, it heals way too fast and does way too much damage even with good gear, Just overall a terribly designed boss

Looking for as many pretty mineral blocks as possible (1.19.2)

To explain my request a little bit more, I love gems, rocks, and metals with all my heart, and modded Minecraft gives me a gigantic palette to work with on that front. Every metal and pseudo-ore in Create looks incredible, on top of calcite just spawning anywhere. Half the reason I installed Oreganized is just that the two metals it adds look great. Tinker’s Construct gives me more metal to play with, new ways to make alloys, and even the option to decorate with molten brass.

So what I need is more of that good shit, especially in terms of gem block textures, maybe a few more exotic metals. I’ve been searching on my own, but unfortunately a lot of search engines and names for mods are more mechanically focused, and also the type of items I’m asking for are just flooded with baby’s first Minecraft mod, where all the textures are ripped from vanilla and/or shared between every block in the mod. Game balance need not apply; if anything getting everything I could possibly want in bulk is ideal.

To give a list of relevant mods I’ve already got installed:

- Create and many Create addons

- Tinker’s Construct

- Quark

- Chipped

- Twigs

- Oreganized

- GeOre

- Galosphere
