Buildcraft is no longer maintained and quarries are no longer with us. How do you make large holes in the world now?
After a long, long break from FTB, I was stoked to see new modpacks using the new world generation, and eagerly downloaded FTB NeoTech. The transition from playing 1.7 to 1.21 was quite a leap, to put it like that. However, I was sad to learn that Buildcraft, staple of modded Minecraft since the very beginning, is no longer with us. Without its awesome Quarry machine, how do you expose bedrock to the surface now? Tech packs are still a thing, so obviously there has to be some system for automatic mining and processing facilities, or at least really fast manual mining, but I can't seem to find it. Instead of quarries, what's everybody using to siphon large amounts of the overworld into their processing system nowadays?

Playing Prominence II is an abysmal experience
After constantly seeing Prominence II pop up on CurseForge, I wanted to give it a try as it seemed very professionally made. I really thougt I would like it but it is a mess.
What is it with all the tech mods? I thought this was meant to be a medieval fantasy RPG modpack. There are like 5 tech mods in here, none of them fit the theme except Create and Botania. Yeah, let me just make a nuclear reactor in my medieval castle and launch apollo 1 from my wizard tower. The mines are littered with different ore types, I don't even know which ones I am going to need. And the modpack does not tell you what belongs to which mod either, the mod names under the items are disabled. I guess they did this to make it feel like a new game and not a bunch of mods stitched together, but it gets so confusing. And what do you mean I need to go invent electricity and make alloys and thingamabobs to invent myself a storage interface? The game gives you lots of crap and in the early game you have to store all of it in chests, and nobody likes organising chests.
If there is an easier storage solution, I wouldn't know, because the quests barely explain anything to you.
What is the point of introducing classes? After being introduced to the different classes in the questbook, I decided to become a rogue. Made my first armor and moved on to the second armor the questbook asked me to make. The armor asks for about 14 pieces of rabbit hide, which is incredibly hard to find as rabbits are weirdly rare. After an hour of looking for rabbits, and then another hour of breeding them, I had my second tier of rogue armor that has barely enough durabilty to last a single boss fight. I thought I would move on to the third tier of rogue armor before realising the third quests asks you to get some gear that has no crafting recipe, and never tells you how to get it, the wiki being of no use either. At this point I did a bit of research and realised classes barely matter and people just make the armor with the highest armor value anyways. Not to mention most of the unique weapons being of the slow hitting big-ass sword variety and none of them fitting with the rogue playstyle.
I decided the armor would be enough and started tackling the campaign as I was level 10. The bosses suck. With my build, The Lich was impossible to hit, so I gave up trying to kill it and decided to tackle the Nether boss instead. By the time I got to the Boss arena, I had acquired a fairly strong unique weapon from the fortress, and my armor seemed to allow me to tank quite a lot of hits aswell. The boss fight is not very exciting but I have this in the bag I thought. I get one hit from full health for no reason. I just cheese the boss with arrows after getting back my stuff.
I still need to kill The Lich. With my melee build, I learned that a flying mount could help. I decide to look for a griffon! The Official Prominence II: Hasturian Era wiki tells me that they can be found near the various mountain biomes! I grab my newly crafted Nature's Compass and... No such biomes exist as they have been removed.
And then it hit me, it hit me after searching for that griffon for hours. Why the hell am I playing this modpack? And I am here to ask you, I am writing all this to ask you. Is there a reason I should keep playing? Does it get better? Am I playing a wrong version or something?

Attempting to make a modpack that looks like a old ripoff made in Unity, any mods to make it feel more like it?
