I feel like modern modpacks and mods don't really go for anything wild anymore

We used to have super op mods, which paired well with those super op mob mods, but I feel like as time went on those kinds of mods died down, and now there aren't really any mods that go wild. Not that these mods are bad, I just miss those wild mods

Minecraft mods that fell off/declined in popularity/quality?

Hey guys, what are some Minecraft mods that were once popular and good, but have since lost its relevent, wether through the owner going bad, the mod not getting updates or people just moving on to something else? I remember or spawn lost its former popularity, in part due to the owner going rogue and becoming an extremist.

Craziest 1.20.1 mods you've seen

What's the craziest mods you've all seen in 1.20.1? This can be about bosses, armor, weapons, or anything else. I would prefer if it wasn't a super well known one like avaratia, draconic evolution, project E, or a orespawn continuation, but I don't really mind. Or you can put your favorite mod that preferably doesn't center around bosses with big melons (metaphorically, that one melon based mod is pretty cool) like a lot of would be crazy cool mods have.

Ey guys, Russia blocked discord, i need your help

So uh. I am a fabric mod developer, also the main creator of executive. Now the problem is that Russia not only blocked discord but also DNI Bypass and VPN connections. Thus I literally can't access it now. At all.

Why are so many modpacks bloated?

Hey, so I tried some of the modpacks, for example Dawncraft, RLCraft, Souls-like packs, and one thing I took immediate notice of is how random and bloated they are. I start mining, and suddenly see 3 or 4 different ores for silver, same for copper. All of the drops have the same name, for example: raw silver, but they are different instances of they same item, with different look. 3000+ mobs spawning outside of my house in the night, some of them as random as big chungus rushing into my base. 7 different armor mods etc.

I am just wondering what is fun about that, when you could have pretty much the same, but less "bloated" experience without 100 mods adding the same things. I'm not making fun of anyone or anything, It's a genuine question.
