Do you hate installing compatibility patches? Do you hate stripping assets from mods that authors worked hard on just to make them fit better with other mods? Do you hate having 7 different kinds of Cattail? Do you hate having to choose only one major biome mod? The Rename Compat Project is here to help with all of this and more. However, now, it is time to ask not, 'What can the Rename Compat Project do for me?' but 'What can I do for the Rename Compat Project?'-
To celebrate ONE MILLION DOWNLOADS of the Rename Compat Project, I am Officially opening the project to collaboration with an actually-functional GitHub with open Pull Requests. It was technically always MIT-licensed and had a GitHub since the start but I did not understand how that website worked (many such cases) and kinda still don't (people are saying this) but I think it's more functional now. Probably. I love all of you, thank you so much for all the support. Version 1.5 will be published before December.

I include it myself when you don't but save a step and just slap it in there? If there's anything in it you don't like, we can talk about it or you can just submit a 'corrected' lang file yourself through the Github and I'll likely just merge it. If the RCP is sufficiently unsuitable for your needs, I can even make a custom fork just for your modpack!)

Mekanism Bigger Teleporters - Teleporters can now be big as 23x23
23x23 Mekanism Teleporter
I'd like to introduce my new mod: Mekanism Bigger Teleporters.
Its a simple addon that increases the size of teleporters up to 23x23 of external frame (21x21 of portal area).
Teleporters still need to follow Mekanism rules of having the teleporter block in center and be at least 3x4.
Its currently available for Minecraft 1.21.1, but 1.20.1 port is planned!
Hope you guys like it! Its the first version and I expect to be fixing found bugs. TY!!

I loved FTB ultimate back in the day, which modpacks are comparable?
I absolutely loved FTB ultimate because it was a varied but also coherent modpack. It felt like you could do any absurd thing you set your mind to and that was one of my favourite things about it.
One thing I did that I remember was build a giant wheat farm tower, made robots to gather all the wheat, converted the wheat into biomass, then to ethanol, then generated all my IC2 energy like this. Super fun. Somehow it kept a solid "minecraft weirdness vibe" that I really like. I tried Monifactory recently and I got turned off a bit because it seemed too much like Minecraft Factorio on steroids rather than a mishmash I could do weird things with. But then again I barely tried it, maybe I'm mistaken.
Anyway, what modpacks would you recommend for someone who loved FTB ultimate in the way I just described?

How to make a Minecraft server for me and my child?
I've been trying to make a minecraft server for my kid and I, so we can play in the same world together, but making a server is so freaking complicated that it feels like my head is going to explode. I mean, I'm no IT Specialist or anything, but I've been around computers my whole life, so I would have thought i'd be able to figure it out, but this has humbled me.
I've tried following this youtube tutorial: https://youtu.be/jfSLxs40sIw?si=6oG9w8miHKd045GC
but I still haven't been able to connect to a server that I make in Minecraft. My "Port Forwarding" settings are a bit different than his. Instead of "port from" and "port to", I have "port start" and "port end", which I imagine is the same, but I could be wrong. It also doesn't give me the option to name it? It also has a device option list, with all the devices that have connect to the router in question. I've tried selecting the device dot, and choosing my PC, and then the IP address dot (it's either or). I've tried both combinations of protocols.
I also have Wan Ports (start and end) and I tried putting 80 for those and the local ports (start and end), but it didn't make a difference.
What am I doing wrong? 6 year old youtuber's are able to do this shit, but somehow I'm struggling.
