My actual thoughts on modpacks...
I really want to enjoy modded Minecraft alone, but I honestly struggle with it.
What I’m searching for is a world that feels alive, hostile, and unpredictable. I don’t want quests telling me where danger is. I don’t want bosses I choose to fight. I want danger to come to me.
The perfect feeling for me would be sitting in my base at night and not feeling safe at all. Hearing strange sounds in the distance. Wondering “what was that” or “is something watching me”. Going mining and knowing that something could happen while I’m gone. Coming back and seeing damage, chaos, or signs that something attacked.
If I combine mods like mutant creatures, troll mobs, cyclops, different types of creepers, Mowzie’s Mobs, cave dweller that stalks you and learns from you, I can almost get what I want. The cave dweller especially is scary because of the sounds and the feeling of being hunted. But I still want more.
I want giants, huge monsters, and strong pillager tribes. Big pillager outposts or forts. Archers on walls. Elite or mutant pillagers. Maybe even tribes that can defend areas or raid me. I want bases in the world that feel powerful and alive, not just empty structures.
What makes me sad is that I know this kind of modpack could exist. I know it’s possible. I’ve made so many posts and searched for so long trying to find something like this, but I still haven’t found one modpack like this but i truly believe there is 1 out there for sure!
If anyone knows a modpack or mods that really focus on this kind of experience, I’d genuinely appreciate it

Is it legal to use any mods you want in monetized videos?
Am i allowed to use any mod(s) that I want and then make videos using them, with the intention of possibly making money from said videos? Maybe noscripted, roleplay-style videos with storytelling.
For example, CustomNPCs is a mod that claims to have the licence creative commons attribution non-commercial 3.0 unported, so would I be in any legal trouble if I were to use it? And perhaps mix it with other mods, from WorldEdit to Blockbuster Studio or ReplayMod, etc...
Does Mojang get the final say? And what about many of the youtubers who DO use all kinds of mods in their videos for different purposes and have no issues with this.
I just want to know if I am allowed to do it, or if it would cause major problems legally and/or morally if I were to create potentially monetized videos that utilize these mods (like CustomNPCs).

Friction points when playing modpacks
I was rewatching Threefolds video about staying motivated playing modpacks and I reread the comment by Etho. Something made me stop and reflect on it a bit more.
In the first part he agrees that it's important to set goals, which Threefold goes into in the video at length:
> Well said! I agree that as long as you have a goal you are chasing, whether it is provided by the modpack itself or by yourself, then you will probably stay motivated.
This one I understand, but in the second part he talks about friction points:
> I think it is also important to identify friction points that come up and try deal with them as soon as possible. They are usually pretty subtle, but can pile up, and before you know it... you don't want to play the world anymore even if you still have a goal in mind.
I started to think about mine, but I found them pretty difficult to identify. The only ones I could come up with were having to stop building something because you ran out of materials.
What are your friction points and how do you deal with them?
