if the modded terraria and modded minecraft communities are in sort-of contact then how come there isn't a terraria tech mod yet
they copied ae2 (magic storage)but theyre too cowardly to copy botania or thermal. why is that ~~(i know, because the average modded terraria player treats the game as a cuphead esque boss rush instead of a sandbox)~~

I just can't get committed to any modpack without a friend to bounce off of

Sorry if asking for modpacks is common, but I need help figuring out a specific one.
I am completely new to modded Minecraft and I am looking for a tech focused progression modpack where you start primitive with flint tools and basic crafting and slowly work toward machines factories and eventually advanced stuff like space
I tried Beyond Cosmos and I liked the idea of the progression but I got really frustrated with the enemies. Mob spawns felt excessive and things like creepers constantly exploding made it hard to actually learn the pack or make progress
I do want enemies and combat to matter and eventually I would like things like guns vehicles or more advanced weapons. I just do not want the early game to feel unfair or overwhelming
Are there modpacks that balance beginner friendly progression reasonable combat and long term tech goals. Or is it generally better to keep heavy tech progression and modern combat separate
