the ULTRAKILL universe invented AE2 shortly after what is implied to be WWI
okay, this might need a bit of lore context.
in ULTRAKILL, humanity's history only went about as far "some time after WWI, but never WWII." WWI, otherwise known in the ULTRAVERSE as the Final War, used machines and robots fueled by blood to fight the wars. and every nation on the planet kept trying to one-up each other everytime a new shint toy is on the battlefield. this eventually led to the war ending on its own after humanity realized its irreparable harm to Earth.
some time after the war ended, a project was started. a project called the Hell Excavation and Exploration project after the discovery of a way to enter Hell as a living being. throughout Hell, humanity put these teleporters everywhere to make transport more viable as Hell is virtually infinite. these teleporters work by reducing objects down to their individual matter and stored as energy. the original object is lost, but it can be recreated losslessly later. which is effectively teleportation. the first ever object to be tested with the matter energy transport was a vinyl record of "Were you foolin'". it was later scaled up to allow transport of full grown humans and even huge machines (at least, it's heavily implied to be.)
notice: objects are reduced down to their individual matter and stored as energy. Matter Energy. ME.
what are your thoughts? post-WWI-but-pre-WWII humanity invented AE2 as well as scaling it up to make it work to store and rematerialize people. Steve can't do this with AE2 alone.

Modpack makers: Please reconsider adding mods that add structures that just blow up loot.
Today I had a profoundly saddening experience. And no, it wasn't because a loot chest got blown up before I could loot it. That happened well over a month ago in previous modpacks I'd played and I got over it pretty quickly and adjusted my playstyle.
Instead, I ruined a perfectly safe structure that would have been actually quite fun to explore as intended, lovingly and painstakingly crafted by the mod maker, with extreme redstone-to-TNT paranoia instilled by the aforementioned mod. And the realization that I deliberately ruined the experience due to it brought me a fair bit of sadness.
I'm not going to go on a rant about how TNT traps ruin player engagement here, instead I'm just going to say they're a cheap way to deny loot access that also hurts deliberately crafted redstone experiences by eroding the player's trust in structures that incorporate redstone devices. I genuinely can't visit a generated structure anymore without being excessively paranoid about literally every bit of redstone circuitry or actuation devices I find *because* of how prevalent that cheap "solution" to denying players loot was.
Modpack creators, if you're thinking of adding a mod that adds structures that incorporate this idea, please reconsider it for the sake of other mod makers who actually put effort into their redstone-using structures.

Items that go into my backpack go into new slots instead of piling up.
I have started gem farming and I have noticed that my gem backpack becomes a whole mess instead of being organized, I have noticed that items that go into it won't go into the already existing pile for some reason. I have not messed with the pick up upgrade at all, or the backpack setting and it was never a problem before. I would ignore the mess if not for the fact that once the mess makes the backpack full no gems go into it, filling up my Inventory instead, even the games that are already in it stop going into it once it's full. Ontop of that the piles work normally, I can add the gems to them by shift clicking them or grabbing the gems and putting them on the initial pile myself.
On the screenshot the three same jewel in a row are the flawed, normal, flawless, and all the new gemes that come inside the backpack are the same quality since I'm farming in the end yet they decide to go into new empty slots for no reason. I highlited some of the examples although it happened with other ones too as you can see, like for the samurai gem.

What's ACTUALLY the best world pre-gen and distant chunk LOD mod combo in 2025?
TL;DR I am wanting to pre-generate a big world and the associated LODs ahead of joining a 1.21.1 NeoForge server. What mod combo is proven to be the best for this in the current year?
===
I'm planning to run a minecraft server in a docker container. It'll be modded with a selection of mods (mainly focusing on Create), intended to run on 1.21.1 NeoForge.
I want to use a mod combo described in the noscript with the intended affect of loading into my world for the first time on my client and immediately having a ~10k radius of blocks pre-generated for me, with chunks visible far into the distance. I don't intend to use world borders so the LOD mod would have to handle generating new chunks outside of that range eventually.
My immediate thought was to use Chunky with Distant Horizons as I've heard of those mods both. However, all the research I've done on these mods have just made things complicated
- apparently distant horizons has a pre-gen feature now, and doesn't reccomend chunky?
- apparently distant horizons can cause issues with how the ground truth chunks in your world are generated?
- apparently some mod called C2ME does better chunk generation, and possibly also far distance rendering? But you have to get a GPU version from their discord?
- apparently you can't pregenerate distant horizons LODs ahead of the client joining the world?
- there's new mods coming out such as Voxy but is that supported on my intended version with mods?
Ideally, I want to spin up the container, exec into it, run some form of
For 1.21.1 NeoForge, can someone give me a no-nonsense answer as to how to best do this?

generate_world command, leave that running while i make dinner/go to work, then be able to come back, join on my client, and immediately have a visibly massive world with none of the usual new-world lag. For 1.21.1 NeoForge, can someone give me a no-nonsense answer as to how to best do this?

[New Mod] Sensorium : A mod about enhancing human senses (Forge 1.12.2)
https://preview.redd.it/nmjpwpd0jc9g1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=f94a4182b8bead2922c2a2909ad7210e044d9ca5

Which modpack do you consider to be the modpack of the year 2025, and why?
Personally, I prefer Raspberry Flavoured and StoneBlock 4, and it's quite difficult for me to decide which one is better.
