I fully ported OreSpawn to 1.12.2 (not fully polished yet)
Hey, I honestly don’t know if many people still care or miss OreSpawn, but I figured I’d share this and see what people think.
I’ve fully ported OreSpawn to Minecraft 1.12.2. The mod compiles, loads, and runs. Every block, item, mob, dimension, and structure from the final 1.7.10 version is registered and present in-game. Dimensions load, structures generate, mobs exist, and the overall mod is playable.
All mob AI and animation systems have also been fully ported. Mobs behave correctly, bosses use their intended logic, and complex multipart entities have their animations and behavior in place.
That said, it’s not fully polished yet, and it definitely doesn’t feel as clean as the original 1.7.10 release.
Some of the main issues right now:
* Some assets render pink/black even though they’re included (likely blockstate/model/texture path issues)
* Worldgen feels off compared to 1.7.10 (sea level / terrain tuning problems)
* Some tools don’t work correctly yet (bows, fishing rods, etc.)
* Spawn eggs and right-click structure items are currently broken
* Multipart bosses like Mobzilla and The King and The Queen exist with models, animations, and AI, but some summoning and asset issues still need polish
Nothing major is missing — it’s more that things need tuning, cleanup, and refinement rather than a full rewrite.
I’m pretty burned out at this point, so I’m not making promises or announcements. I mainly wanted to see if anyone still misses this mod, finds this interesting, or thinks it’s cool that it’s even possible to get OreSpawn this far on 1.12.2.
