20 residents at the Near North camp (most of which are Black and/or Indigenous) are once again facing displacement from the city, this time with only 2 days notice. The city has given no place to go. Even temporary shelters lack capacity.
RESIDENTS DEMANDS
No forced removal or destruction
No use of police or other public resources to displace people ever
All decisions about NN happen with residents consent
Land to move to together, on which to establish permanent homes, before leaving this camp.
