🗳 1.1 Proposal B Voting Ended

A two-thirds majority of Minter validators voted in favor of the proposed block number for the transition to a new version of the blockchain.

At the 5,000,000th block (March 6, 2020, ~7:00 a.m. UTC), the current network will stop. An hour after that, Minter 1.1 will go live.

In the picture above, you can see the layout of the new minter.network website where everyone will be able to create their own article or collaborate on one.

Everything is centered around documents that cover a wide range of topics—some more in-depth, some less. Once launched, you can cite them as a final authority.

“Tools” refer to what helps develop the projects. “Solutions” imply on-chain and off-chain services you can use. And last but not least, there are “How-To’s” at their best—ultimate guides and educational materials.

We will start with the English version, and within a year, the website will be available in 10 most popular languages.
The network is being updated.
Minter Network
The network is being updated.
Everything is up and running. In 298 days of existence, the network has been unavailable for about 10 hours, which is 0.14% of all time or 2 minutes per day.

The experiment goes on.
Developers and Enthusiasts

We have decided to simplify our community as much as possible and split it into two parts so that everyone enjoys participation. From now on, there will be only two categories in our terminology: developers and enthusiasts.

By developers, we mean everyone who has already started doing something within Minter and can code, release solutions, and manage services.

Enthusiasts refer to those who are interested in the network and its products, but either can’t program or never even planned to—for example, managers, traders, blockchain newcomers.

Why do we introduce such a division? We want you to be able to provide information and exchange opinions more easily. Time is (a lot of) money, and search for managers for the product often does not interest developers at all, and vice versa.

Where’s the mass user, then? There is no such group in our system of coordinates—in much the same way as you will not find it on Amazon Web Services, yet you will on Netflix, which relies entirely on AWS. The most interesting thing is that grannies may also be enthusiasts, understand how the network works, but still, they will not count as developers. They cannot simply create Minter Push working from the browser address bar in a one-weekend sitting.

If it seems to you that we praise developers only, you are wrong. It is often enthusiasts who come up with user services and spread them among their friends and colleagues.

It is safe to say that today, all Minter community members are enthusiasts who support the network and want to build projects on top of it. And our task is to match those who can code with those who would take on products, ads, and sales.

Websites & their target audiences:
minter.network for developers
minter.org for enthusiasts

We will think of something for grannies as well. Who knows, maybe they will start developing, too!

#MinterPush Hackathon Stage Five: Speed. Results

🥇st place for speed and clarity: https://yyy.cash (300,000 BIP)
🥈nd place for creativity and quality of production: https://reef.mn (200,000 BIP)
🥉rd place: the rest (100,000 BIP each)

We had a long discussion, and to be honest, it was a much harder choice than the last time. And no, we are not flattering anyone or trying to commend our community. It’s a simple reality: all participants have been working on their products, constantly improving them.

The teams are notable: 5s.gift for an example with tipping the waitress; bip.plus for a cool explainer; tap.mn for an easy-to-understand and easy-to-use product; push.gifts for concreteness. What we’re talking about now are videos. The functionality is much more complex, and each team is strong in its own area.

But YYY blew everyone away with their drive, and REEF, with the atmosphere.

In a month and a half, the team awarded a total of 4,150K BIP (>$100K) and 77 #POPE, including this stage and the quick one with the address bar. And it was worth it because the products we got are on a whole new level.

Today, we celebrate as we learned to make transfers in one minute or less, and tomorrow, back to the battleground: we must introduce them into loyalty systems for millions of people around the world.

Below you can find the applications sorted by the project’s name:
5s.gift: youtu.be/FuXPiJUmyBE
bip.plus: youtu.be/6b4LMQVvdX4
push.gifts: youtu.be/Lw6Tfhj3g8Q
reef.mn: youtu.be/lI9YId6xcFs
tap.mn: youtu.be/caOoQNSuVNo
yyy.cash: youtu.be/a-2OE6TZw24 | youtu.be/unWc4-D82wQ

P.S. By the way, try @yyycashbot if you haven’t yet. After depositing your BIP, simply write "@yyycashbot 100" (without quotation marks) in any group or private chat. The person will immediately get the link to the wallet with the amount you entered (replace "100" in the example above with the value you need).

We also take this opportunity to thank our iOS developer Alex who created monke.io and was first to come up with sending money using links via monke.me. He got the idea, you developed it, and now we’ll bring it to perfection!
Proven fact: Minter is the fastest way to send, receive, and spend crypto. It runs on a reliable DPoS blockchain, which can process thousands of transactions per second. With absolute liquidity and a unique mechanism for issuing your own coin, you get the most universal solution for the market of private monies: loyalty points, game credits, achievements, tokens, and so on.
🏆 Multi-Language Article Contest: Results

There were quite a lot of people who submitted their writings, so we needed some time to determine the winners that met the competition criteria. Unfortunately, not all languages have their winners as there were many translated and non-unique pieces, and we will need to continue our search for local content managers. For now, let’s look at the results.

Turkish
1st place (25k BIP)
2nd place (15k BIP)
3rd place (5k BIP)

Italian
1st place (25k BIP)
2nd place (15k BIP)

German
1st place (25k BIP)
2nd place (15k BIP)
3rd place (5k BIP)

Indonesian
1st place (25k BIP)
2nd place (15k BIP)
3rd place (5k BIP)

French
1st place (25k BIP)
2nd place (15k BIP)

Chinese
1st place (25k BIP)
2nd place (15k BIP)

Prizes will be distributed today to the addresses specified in the application forms.
Unique moment in history: the price of one ounce of gold is equal to 100,000 BIP. For thousands of years, gold has been a measure of wealth and primary medium of exchange. What’s next?
The Crowdsourcing of the Network’s Website

As we reported earlier, content for the newly updated minter.network website will be created by the community and divided into four categories: Docs, How-To’s, Tools, and Services.

The first volume of information in Russian is already being prepared for publication, and we announce GitHub as the main platform for collecting and updating the info, where any developer will be able to submit an article and suggest edits/additions.

Since the website will be completely centered around developers, there is no better platform than GitHub for gathering all knowledge about the network, services, tools, and community achievements in an open format. Everyone will instantly see who authored a specific article or suggestion, how authoritative that person is, and what they do in Minter and beyond.

Our tech lead Nik Eybog has already started to implement the idea; the alpha version will be out in a few days. What’s especially pleasing is that for all people who actively contribute, we will launch a permanent bounty program with rewards in the TEAM coin. Sharing knowledge has never been more beneficial.

Please keep in mind that the website will be about all things technical—from developers, for developers. If you want to learn about the network and its community, you can still visit a great Minter Wiki.
Support for the Validators

The team is ready to back up those validators who develop and/or maintain the network’s critical services. MDF is eagerly awarding promotion grants. The team also offers validators a separate grant to create or update their websites so that they could become the face of the network.

To sum up:
– Design — grants from the team
– Promotion — MDF-issued grants
– Services & Tools — grants and delegation

Don’t be shy, reach out to @seo2z. He will help you fill in an application.
Minter is an open blockchain-powered ecosystem of programmable money with probably the most intuitive user interface on the market. Issue and operate loyalty points, game credits, tokens, achievements at lightning-fast speed via API and ready-to-use SDKs.

We deliver on the promise of global easy-to-use money.
Yet another achievement for the team: multi-signatures are completely ready to use.

We have added full support for multisig to the Console. One can now create a multisig address & use it to sign and send a transaction verified by several signatures.

Transactions with multi-signatures can also be generated off-line:
