#Weekly Community Update (April 1, 2019)

⚙️ Last week, we ran multiple tests aimed to locate the issues that may emerge after the launch of the main network. We want to thank all members of our community who help us in this regard. Assistance in bug discovery will be rewarded once the Minter Mainnet goes live. What has changed with the latest update?

– Having analyzed the results of trials and made a number of improvements, we launched an upgraded test network
– Made small changes to new Explorer’s interface and moved it to a more powerful server ahead of launch
– Updated API methods
– Fixed an issue that was preventing us from the quick launch of services after starting a new testnet
– Implemented necessary improvements for the correct processing of data related to rewards that are distributed when a masternode is turned off
– Eliminated a few non-critical issues in iOS and Android apps

Stay tuned!
Perpetual Coin Offering

While the whole world has gone crazy about IEOs (Initial Exchange Offerings), a new form of ICO, we want to tell you how to launch your own coin on the Minter network (@MinterTeam) easily and quickly and raise funds with a predictable capitalization. No “lottery tickets” or price downturns.

Check out our how-to article — https://medium.com/@MinterTeam/how-to-create-your-own-coin-the-definitive-guide-9186a5c41415
We put a lot of effort into developing Explorer 2.0, and most of it remained unseen for a regular user.

In the article below, our developers tell about the core components, structure, and technical features of the new Explorer.

#Weekly Community Update (April 8, 2019)

Last week, we
– successfully reset the test network, having transferred the data from the previous testnet in a genesis block
– added multiple transactions to our Telegram wallet. You can now specify several addresses and amounts in one message by starting a new line for each transaction 🔥
– upgraded the blockchain and improved optimization
– converted error messages that are displayed in the console and applications to a more readable format
– resolved issues within iOS and Android apps

Stay tuned!
As we are getting closer to the launch, our lead developer has decided to tell you a bit more about how the main network will go live and how the coins will be distributed.

‌‌‌‎🔥 We have started to deploy Minter Mainnet Console available at console.minter.network. You can already create a new wallet for the main network!

Do not forget that a seed phrase (12 words) generated upon the wallet creation is the key to all your funds. That is why we highly recommend you store it in a safe place and use it for authorization in official services only.

You can now enter the address (starts with Mx…) in your Dashboard. It is this address that your BIP will be credited to after the main network goes live.

The guide below has all you need to know:

#Weekly Community Update (April 15, 2019)

Last week, we published a detailed guideline on how to create a wallet for receiving BIP in the main network and bind it to your Early Access account. Please read it carefully: minter.link/guideline.

We also
– added the ability to create a main network wallet in the official console (authorization will be enabled immediately after the launch) and made our source code open so that you could generate your address off-line; 🔥
– updated the information about creating coins in the console;
– upgraded the blockchain and resolved a few issues identified during trials;
– updated the Early Access Campaign bot (@MinterNetworkBot), which you can now also use to submit your Mainnet address;
– implemented the feature allowing for the deletion of custom coins with insufficient reserve;
– added the display of multi-transactions in iOS and Android applications.

3,000 participants have claimed 60% of the coins. Tomorrow, we are launching a testnet with the genesis block and your addresses!
‌‌‌‎Last week, we released Minter Mainnet Console with which you can generate an address for receiving coins in the main network. We also wrote a guideline on how to create a wallet and submit it via the Dashboard.

For those who want to generate their wallet in the most secure way possible, we created a guideline on how to do that off-line: https://minter.link/off-line

ℹ️ If you have already submitted the address via the Dashboard and want to change it, we will roll out such an option next week.
#Weekly Community Update, April 22

🔄 All participants can now use the Dashboard to change their address for receiving the main network coins. If you have already submitted and confirmed an address but want to generate a new one, you can now do that with a few clicks.

– Added and updated the off-line version of the console to enable users to create a wallet in a more secure way.
– Upgraded the blockchain and started a new test network.
– Released a tool for checking the genesis block so that everyone could make sure that the coins are distributed properly and fairly after the launch.
– Introduced network ID within a transaction so that user’s funds could not be stolen if the same wallet is used for both networks.
– Implemented the delegation feature in the Android application (coming soon to iOS as well).

#Weekly Community Update (April 29)

📆 Last week, we announced the date of launch: it will occur on May 15, 2019, at 15:05 UTC. What else did we do?

— Upgraded the blockchain and started a new testnet to pilot the distribution of bonuses and airdrops.
— Added the ability to generate transactions off-line in the console.
— Added the ability to change the mainnet address in the Dashboard and the Early Access Campaign bot.
— Added the sorting of block signatures in the explorer.
iOS and Android apps now support the delegation of coins to masternodes.

By the way, if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to share them with us via the bot or in our chat.
You can still ask other participants to assign their BIP balances to you—just send a request via your Dashboard. The price is fixed at 1 BTC for 100 000 BIP.

https://minternetwork.com/dashboard

We are disabling this feature in a week. After that, we will finalize the account balances, create a genesis block, and get ready for the Mainnet launch.
Less than 10 days from now, we will launch the main network. We highly recommend you make sure that you have everything you need to receive the coins, especially if you want to participate in the voting that will determine the starting price of BIP.

As soon as May 10, all balances and main network addresses will be finalized. Learn more about each stage in the article below:

Final Call

Starting tomorrow, 10:00 AM UTC, you will no longer be able to ask other participants to assign their BIP balances to you. It is symbolic that from the moment the Early Access campaign concluded, the price of BIP followed the downward trend set by Bitcoin and fell from 6.3 U.S. cents apiece to as low as 3 and is now back at over 6 again.

The final testnet with a new genesis block will be launched on May 12.
For over 18 months, a team of seven developers has been working on the Minter ecosystem. Now that the mainnet launch draws near, our lead developer Daniil Lashin has written an article to give you a little insight into the general architecture and logic of the network operation, as well as to provide the reasoning behind making particular decisions.

⚡️ App Store has approved the official BIP application. We will become the only blockchain to have its own wallet right from the launch of the network! Google Play is next.
Final Preparations

Today, at 10:00 UTC, we disabled the users to re-assign their BIP balances and recorded all addresses and balances to be included in the Genesis file of Minter Mainnet! 🚀

We suggest that you search for your address through the Genesis file and check if your balance is correct.

https://genesis-viewer.minter.network/

Complaints regarding the contents of the Genesis file will be accepted up until May 12, 10:00 UTC. After that, it will be finalized.

Let us also remind you that if you are a member of the pool, then your coins will be first credited to the pool’s address for further distribution. The situation is different with bonuses and airdrops, which will all be sent to your wallet directly on days 15 and 29, respectively.

On May 12, 11:00 UTC, we will run the last testnet with the finalized Genesis file. And on May 15, 15:05 UTC, Minter Mainnet will go live.
Minter Mainnet Launch and Voting for the Price of BIP

While we all wait for the start of the main network, there is still one important thing to settle. It is the initial price of BIP. Let us remind you that it is this price that will be used for buying and selling BIP through the Validators’ Bank. After the main network goes live, the price of BIP will be changing by a maximum of 1% in either direction on a regular 24-hour basis.

The coin’s price will be denominated in USD

We have just started the final testnet, during which the network participants will be voting for the starting price of BIP. The process will last through blocks 1 to 30 000. To vote, you will need to send a transaction with any sum to the address Mx00000000000000000000000000000000000000A1. In a transaction message, you will have to indicate the price that you vote for—e.g., 0.5 (the value can be as low as 0.01 and as high as 1.00). The weight of a particular vote will be determined by the number of coins in stakes and address balances (as of block 30 000).

For example,
Address #1 with 100 BIP in balance and stakes votes for the price of $1,
Address #2 with 50 BIP in balance and stakes votes for the price of $0.1,
Initial price of BIP = 1×(100/150)+0.1×(50/150) = $0.7.

⚠️ We suggest that you use a local console.

You can watch the voting live here: https://coin.minter.network
