🎧Android will soon let you decide if your Pixel can lower your loud headphone volume
To abide by regulatory requirements, Google in Android 14 QPR1 added a "sound exposure notifications" feature that not only warns you about prolonged exposure to loud audio but can automatically lower your headphone's volume to protect your hearing.
Currently, there's no way to control this feature - even in regions where it's not mandated by regulation. But Google is preparing a new 'Hearing Wellness' menu that will let you control this.

⌨️🖱The Pixel Tablet 2 would’ve been great with Android’s new PC-like features
Android 16 QPR2 adds a bunch of new keyboard and mouse features, making it all the more disappointing we won't get a Pixel Tablet 2.
Do you agree with my argument👇?

I actually first heard about this back in January, but at the time, I wasn't sure if it was legit.
For background, a dev DMed me on X claiming to have received a survey from Google intended for "people who use third party apps on Android." This survey asked them how they would feel if app developers could "register their identity with Android."
It goes on to say that being a registered developer means that "Android has confirmed the developer is who they say they are and are able to confirm if an app" the user is going to install is in fact created by that registered developer. This would allow users to find out if the developer of the app was registered with Android even for "apps installed from outside of the Google Play Store."
The survey supposedly came from a third-party service, and I only had one report of it, so I wasn't sure it was real.

Google has revealed the new Android statue!
Each year, Google places a new statue somewhere on its Mountain View campus that celebrates the latest Android release.
This year's statue highlights Google's new Material 3 Expressive design and its playful shapes. (Though technically Material 3 Expressive comes with Android 16 QPR1 and not the initial Android 16 release.) The statue's design was crowdsourced from the Android team and Gemini was used to illustrate the ideas.
