May Allah have mercy on Shaykh Rabee' b. Haadee al-Madkhali who died last night رحمه الله.

🔸Our Shaykh Muhammad Ali Adam Al-Ityubi رحمه الله said:

Shaykh Rabee' is one of the imams of the Salaf in this era, and I love him, and he loves me. I nickname him “Shu'bah of this era.” Do you know Shu'bah ibn al-Hajjaj?

Sheikh Rabee' is like Shu'bah in this era. Those who criticize him and describe him as severe, then he has precedents (Salaf) for that from the scholars, and none feel hatred against him except those who have went astray."

الشيخ ربيع من أئمة السلف في هذا العصر ، وأنا أحبه وهو يحبني ، وأنا ألقبه بشعبة العصر ، تعرف شعبة بن الحجاج ؟

الشيخ ربيع شعبة في هذا العصر ، والذين يذمونه ويصفونه بالشدة ، فإنَّ له سلف ذلك عن العلماء ، ولا يعاديه إلا المنحرفون.

Mixing Zamzam with regular water.

Our beloved Shaykh Muhammad Ali Adam Al-Ityūbi رحمه الله wrote,

"Mixing blessed water, such as Zamzam with other water, does not remove its special qualities, as its blessing remains upon it.

Therefore, what some pilgrims do when they return to their country, of adding more water to the Zamzam they carry in order to increase its quantity so they can share it with relatives and friends, is considered commendable."

In Defence of Imam Tirmidhi's رحمه الله Hadith Gradings.

By The Great Ethiopian Makkan Hadith Master, Shaykh Muhammad Ali Adam Al-Ityūbi رحمه الله.

"Criticizing Imam at-Tirmidhi (may Allah have mercy on him) for his authentication or grading of hadith is a blameworthy overreach. He was a qualified mujtahid, like the other leading scholars in this field - especially considering that much of what he reports is taken from the foremost authority among the hadith masters, the mountain of precision and memorization, the master of critique and clarity: Imam al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him).

In essence: at-Tirmidhi is a foundational figure in this discipline, just like the other imams. He exercised scholarly judgment as they did, and such judgment may be correct or mistaken. This is the nature of all hadith critics: their work is accepted, and sometimes critiqued. Therefore, one should not speak ill of him indiscriminately.

Reflect on this with fairness, and do not follow the path of bias. And Allah is the One who guides to the straight path."

May Allah have mercy on our Shaykh Muhammad Ali Adam al-Ityubi, enlighten his grave, and make it a garden of paradise.

During the last part of his life he would finish the Quran on a weekly basis, and before his illness he would finish it every three days.

Perhaps this is the reason why Allah granted him much success in authorship and teaching and Allah knows best.
