I seek assistance in all of Allah's Names in writing this...

"...He puts his glasses down..."

There were many benefits and beautiful details during the lessons of our Shaykh Muhammad bin Ali bin Ādam al-ityubi - may Allah have mercy on him, forgive and cover his misdeeds.

And here am I conveying to you one of those beautiful details from his gatherings:

During his lessons, he - رحمه الله - would wear his glasses. The Shaykh would read the study material by himself then offer his invaluable commentary.

It was from his custom to hold his glasses with his right hand during commentary, then, once he finished his commentary, he would put his glasses on again and continue the lesson...

However, whenever he wanted to offer a lengthy explanation, he would position his glasses in front of him......

And lo and behold in depth analysis, subtle insights, and his invaluable conclusions.

As a result we would observe attentively whenever he placed his glasses in order to truly make use of his benefits.

May Allah forgive and have mercy on our Shaykh.

🤲 O Allah, forgive Abu Abdil Jaleel, elevate his station among those who are guided, take care of his affairs that were left behind him, and forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds. Enlarge for him his grave and shed light upon him in it.

Note from Aboo Shaybah unrelated to the content of today's sermon translation posted above:

Between Thuhr and 'Asr on Thursday 21 Safar 1442h (8 October 2020), the day before this sermon was delivered, we were informed about the passing of our teacher and neighbour here in Makkah, the esteemed interdisciplinary scholar of Islaam and prolific writer, ash-Shaykh Muhammad 'Alee Aadam al-Ityoobee, who taught at Daar al-Hadeeth al-Khayriyyah and also taught at al-Masjid al-Haraam for a time. His funeral prayer was scheduled to be performed at al-Masjid al-Haraam after the 'Ishaa' prayer on the same night, though with very limited attendance due the precautions in place against the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic. We beseech Allaah to accept the tutelage and writings of our teacher and neighbour, ash-Shaykh Muhammad 'Alee Aadam, and allow them to be a continuous source of benefit, guidance, and reward. We further implore Allaah to be pleased with him, forgive him, have mercy upon him, multiply the rewards of his righteous deeds, admit him to Jannah without reckoning, and bestow much perseverance and steadfastness upon all the members of his household. In addition, as students of Islaam whose knowledge and efforts are relatively meager, we earnestly pray that Allaah grants us the sincerity, fortitude, and correctness required to perhaps one day be individuals whom Allaah Himself deems worthy possessors and conveyors of the knowledge that He blessed us to acquire at the feet of remarkably gifted scholars of Islaam whom He put in this world during the portion of our lives in which He gave us the opportunity to learn about His religion; and to us, ash-Shaykh Muhammad was undoubtedly one of the gifted scholars whom we had the privilege of knowing and learning from. We all most certainly belong to Allaah, and to Him alone we will all most certainly return. O Allaah, we beseech You to let the adversity we face be a source of attaining Your reward, and we beseech You to bestow upon us a replacement that will be even better than what is now gone.
