The Elrond mainnet will launch with Binance $BUSD as the first stable coin

The Elrond mainnet will launch soon with the Binance $BUSD as the first available stablecoin. Developers can already start building on the Elrond testnet with a dedicated IDE and smart contract frameworks for the most popular languages. This way they get a head start on implementing new DeFi use cases and receive 30% royalties from their smart contracts.

Stable coins in general have also seen a spike in use, with transactions nearing $100bn so far in 2020, almost three times more than in 2019. Slow transactions, long confirmation times and large fees are seemingly inescapable infrastructure problems today. Elrond’s innovative infrastructure & economics will enable it to capture a significant portion of the existing transactions and make it the obvious choice for new ones.

Binance adds $ERD Savings for 7 & 14 days with 10% & 12% APR

Binance will open a customizable $ERD Savings product on 30 April at 12:00 UTC. Each user will be capped at 5.000.000 ERD per deposit and will be able to select a 7 days lock with 10% APR or 14 days lock with 12% APR.

There is a total 150.000.000 ERD cap for each of the products, to be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Interest calculation starts 24 hours after the launch of the products, on 01 May at 12:00 UTC.

Dubai Blockchain: Elrond & GDA Corporation Exploring Fast Payments & Smart Contract Frameworks

The Dubai Blockchain Strategy aims to make Dubai the first city fully powered by blockchain. It tackles three strategic pillars of Government Efficiency, Industry Creation and International Leadership. The implementation of the use cases for each of the pillars will be made after a rigorous selection of technologies and implementation partners.

Elrond Ltd. and GDA Corporation are exploring the implementation of fast payments & clearance networks, as well as the definition and implementation of smart contract frameworks, for the Dubai smart city initiative. The partnership is working off of Elrond’s scalable infrastructure and multiple innovations around smart contracts & smart accounts to define a fitting working model for Dubai and deploy it on the Elrond blockchain.

🚀 +15.000 TPS on Testnet with 100% Cross-Shard TXs

We tested the speed of our latest release and reached a whopping 15.133 TPS

We reached 65.000 TPS in our internal testnet, but this number is more important, because the protocol is now feature complete and has all the security features baked in. Even more important, it’s running on community nodes in an open environment.

Our Bootstrapping process is close to moving into Phase 2. The Prestaking has successfully reached 4.15 billion ERD staked, which together with the 400 million ERD rewards add up to more than 4.5 billion ERD staked, in line with our ambitious 5 billion ERD goal.

📄 “At genesis all the delegations will go towards the Elrond foundational nodes. Whitelisted community nodes will put up their own stake, and Staking as a Service providers will temporarily receive stake delegation from the special Elrond company reserve.

There will be 1.005 foundational nodes run by Elrond and a fixed stake per node of 2.5 Mil ERD. The maximum amount of $ERD possible to be delegated by the community before launch is 2.512.500.000 ERD (2.51 Bil $ERD)”
