The moment for the Elrond mainnet launch has come. July 30th, 2020 will reveal to the world what we’ve been working on. Over the next 4 weeks we will continue to announce new exciting collaborations, increasing Elrond’s exposure and momentum in preparation for the mainnet launch.

Genesis Staking 2.0 is now live.

⚡️ +700,000 properties to accept ERD payments via Expedia & Travala.

Our ecosystem partner, the Binance-backed Travala.com, recently entered into a collaboration with global travel platform Expedia, which covers +1 million properties, 500+ Airlines, 35k+ activities, 175+ rental car companies, dozens of cruise lines and +1.8 million HomeAway listings.

This integration makes an additional +700.000 properties bookable with cryptocurrency, in addition to the +2 million hotels and 600 airlines, which were already available via the recent merger between Travala.com and TravelByBit. The native mainnet ERD token & listed assets will be usable as payment for those services as well.

We congratulate our partners on this achievement, which also represents an important milestone for the Elrond ecosystem.

Orion Protocol to deploy liquidity aggregation & DeFi products on Elrond Mainnet

The Elrond Integrated Development Environment, CLI, SDK, smart contract frameworks, debugging, and other instruments come together as one of the most useful toolkits for integrating blockchain technology into processes.

Orion Protocol is one of the emerging players in the DeFi space that are looking to leverage our comprehensive toolset and scalable architecture to deploy their liquidity aggregation capabilities. They are building a platform that will bring together order books from centralized and decentralized exchanges, to give traders access to deeper liquidity in a non-custodial manner.

Elrond Assets Soon Usable in Classical Financing and Cross-Chain DeFi via ProDefi

More Elrond adoption is coming thanks to the latest collaboration with ProDefi, a hybrid solutions provider that looks to bridge the gap between traditional finance and DeFi. The Singapore startup wants to combine the best aspects of CeFi and DeFi, with the goal of opening up classical finance to blockchain benefits, while also enabling broader access to DeFi products.

The mix of classical financing and cross-chain DeFi exposure for Elrond assets will drive adoption to native solutions on our blockchain, thanks to the protocol-agnostic liquidity pools and access to brick & mortar-like solutions that will address a much larger userbase than the current DeFi niche.

Elrond Mainnet Will Get Private Cross-Chain Transactions via Suterusu 2nd Layer

We’re excited to announce that the Elrond mainnet will get extra privacy options by routing via the Suterusu 2nd layer solution. This gives Elrond accounts the ability to preserve the privacy of transactions sent to other Elrond accounts or even other blockchains such as Bitcoin.

Public blockchains, such as Bitcoin and Elrond, are inherently transparent and display all the information about the addresses & transacted amounts. Even if not directly linked to a physical person or business identity, privacy seekers may often look beyond the protection offered by public addresses randomly generated by a blockchain.
