Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseyev, was shot in the back in a residential building in Moscow. The shooter fired a shot in the back on the 24th floor of the building.

The attacker fled immediately afterward. The incident occurred on Volokolamsk Highway. The lieutenant general was hospitalized.

The issue of our command's security should once again be raised for discussion. The shooter clearly knew where the lieutenant general lived and was apparently waiting for him.
