Mainstream Media gave birth to a child named Alternative Media. Mama always knew we'd get bored 'just watching'. Papa knew we wanted rabbit holes; to be detectives on our little screens. And so they built up an online amusement park. I’ve been there many times, went on all the roller coasters. That’s what we wanted. Blue light bliss, justice, and dopamine. But what we didn’t see is that ‘any media’ would divide + distract us from Fishing and Hunting, from forming strong local communities, foraging food and water, building sovereignty, mastering fire, and learning harmony with the land. Left or Right, it’s all wrong. Every salacious headline is a distraction, every new bylaw is an invitation to leave. We have been thoroughly domesticated, sometimes hypnotized from all sides, now uneasy in the very Woods that willingly provides for us in abundance. If we could just remember how to dance...but, I know I know, most days I don’t want to leave either.
