Meta AI just released DINOv2!

This is a massive release!

Here's a breakdown of what you need to know:

- DINOv2 is a new method for training high-performance computer vision models based on self-supervised learning.

- DINOv2 enables learning rich and robust visual features without supervision which are useful for both image-level visual tasks and pixel-level tasks. Tasks supported include image classification, instance retrieval, video understanding, depth estimation, and much more.

- The big deal here seems to be self-supervised learning and how it enables DINOv2 to be used to create general, multipurpose backbones for many types of computer vision tasks and applications. The model generalizes well across domains without fine-tuning. This is self-supervised learning at its finest!

- Another important aspect of this research is the composition of a large-scale, highly-curated, and diverse pertaining dataset to train the models. The dataset includes 142 million images.

- Other algorithmic efforts include dealing with the instability that arises from training larger models, including more efficient implementations that reduce things like memory usage and hardware requirements.

- DINOv2 pretrained models are also released! Pretraining code and recipe for Vision Transformer models are included, including checkpoints for ViT models made available via PyTorch Hub.

توی فارسی فکر می‌کنم برای این مفهوم اسم نداریم. اون روز به اسم انگلیسیش برخوردم و برام جالب بود که چنین مفهومی اسم داره!
فرض کن اخیرا رابطه‌ی قبلی رو با کسی بهم زدی (breakup) و هنوز هم ازش عبور نکردی (move on) و بعد تقریبا بلافاصله می‌خوای وارد رابطه‌ی دیگه‌ای بشی صرفا برای پر کردن جای یه چیزی که جاش خالیه (ممکنه خواسته یا ناخواسته این کار رو بکنی). به این رابطه میگن rebound relationship و اینجا توضیحات بیشتری در این باره و اینکه چه میشه کرد (چه به عنوان کسی که خودش این کار رو کرده چه به عنوان کسی که توی چنین رابطه‌ای قرار گرفته) هست. الزامی نداره که این رابطه بد باشه؛ ولی نیاز به مراقبت بیشتری از سمت دو طرف داره.
