Apparently, the latest release causes some breakage on A15 as a result of new BMS changes in the beta 4 kernel, causing panics when attempting to charge the device, again ONLY on A15.

So, I'll remind everyone once again that Neutrino has always been based on current beta kernel sources, in this case A16 beta 4. Compatibility with stable / older versions of Android is untested and not guaranteed.

To be clear, this build is compatible with android16-qpr1-beta. However, Google has not yet published the source for BP31.250502.008 so Neutrino is still based on the android16-beta4 kernel.

As soon as they make the latest beta sources available, I will update accordingly.

Just for the sake of updating anyone who might be concerned about the lack of updates recently - let me be clear it's not me, it's Google.

There are currently no kernel sources published for any of the A16 QPR1 releases. I got away with this on Beta 1/1.1 as the latest build of Neutrino remained compatible. However, as of Beta 2 the kernel no longer boots, and until Google uploads their sources there is nothing I can do about it.

I'm just going to hang back on Beta 1.1 for as long as is feasible and hope that they get their shit together sooner rather than later, but I realize that just isn't going to be a tenable solution for most of you.

I opened an issue about this situation today, in an attempt to get some attention on the matter, so if you guys want to +1 and/or make some noise in the comments that'd be great:

Bottom line, they are obligated to make kernel sources available for all publicly released software and failing to do so is a major concern.

So I've got some good news that's also somewhat concerning. The good news is that I have finally received BP31.250523.006 kernel sources (16 QPR1 Beta 2), the bad news is that this is how I received it which only reinforces my fear that Google no longer intends to publish QPR sources to AOSP... which, sucks, but at the end of the day I got what I need to carry on and if I need to beg for source tarballs every month than I'll damn well do it.

So yeah, be on the lookout for a new Beta 2 compatible release in the coming days!

Apologies for the extended delay, even after I managed to get a hold of Beta 2 kernel sources there were some additional compatibility hurdles to overcome before arriving at a functional build, but here we are!

For installation, I recommend using this fork of KernelFlasher. I've been running into some issues flashing my zips on the original version (which hasn't been updated in over a year), and there are no such issues with 1.5.0. I've also tested Horizon Kernel Flasher, which works fine as well.

Two Public Service Announcements for the price of none:

1) For anyone who no doubt may be wondering, the latest release is compatible with 16 QPR1 Beta 3 (BP31.250610.004). Naturally, I will continue to keep the Neutrino inline with the latest QPR kernel, it just may take a bit more time than it has in the past given that I have to beg Google for sources now and also because..

2) My phone is cooked, display shit the bed on me the other day and it's currently in Google's hands awaiting an RMA verdict. One way or another, I'll be getting a replacement device either by way of warranty claim or preferred care, hopefully sometime early next week.
