A hotfix update is pushed to sourceforge.net (14th Dec build) for Android R.

Those of you who experienced crashes with Google maps should no longer face this with 14th Dec build.

Dirty flashing over 12th Dec will work.

A few announcements before the next release!

1. Vanced YouTube

- In our recent discussion with vanced team, we wanted to address an issue that has been bugging a lot of users. That is, not being able to install the latest version of YouTube Vanced on top of existing one.
- With v14 being an outdated version, in the best interest of everyone, we've decided to discontinue shipping that version with NikGapps packages.
- With that, we're going to ship vanced manager instead of YouTube Vanced v14 for users to independently install whichever vanced version they want to install.
- The issue that you're experiencing with YouTube Vanced root version where the play services are not compatible. The root cause is still unknown and the workaround of that is to use non root version.

2. NikGapps Variants Definitions

- With the current definition of variants that we have, there is a big gap between omni and macro variant and we'd like to address that.
- We've decided to re-define the packages regrouping them based on their association with other google apps. For e.g. Dialer goes with Contacts and Messages.
- Thanks to NikGapps Addons we can now drop macro variant allowing users to flash addons to meet their desired gapps package.
- Following is the new definition of NikGapps variants.

Core - No changes

Basic - Core + Wellbeing, Vanced Manager, Dialer, Messages, Contacts, Carrier Services, Clock

Omni - Basic + Setup Wizard, Calculator, Drive, Maps, Gmail, Photos, Health Services

Stock - Omni + Pixel Launcher, DPS, Velvet, Files, Play Games, Calendar, Markup, Sound, Wallpaper, Feedback, Partner Setup

Full - No changes

With one less variant to maintain, we'd be able to provide faster updates!

3. NikGapps Addons

- We're glad to announce that with next release we'd be releasing all the individual google apps packages as addons (such as Gmail, Calendar, etc)
- These addons will be exclusive for NikGapps users.
- Those who are on NikGapps can benefit from individual addons that they can download from @NikGappsGroup.
- With this, you can choose a lower variant and download only the ones that you need.

4. NikGapps Release Updates

- With limited resources, we bear the cost of the project and its quite difficult to maintain builds for every version.
- We'd be dropping pie support with our last pie release
- Pie will receive another update only if the last build stops working
- Android Q and R will have regular updates

Note:
- This is the final build for Pie users. We will only release new build for pie users if current one has issues/stops working with rom updates
- NikGapps variants are redesigned (we have dropped macro variant, instead we're releasing all the individual google apps addons in @NikGappsGroup group)
- Remember, this is exclusive for those who use NikGapps, so the addons will only work on top of NikGapps packages. so if you wish to flash them on top of Rom with inline gapps! flash NikGapps core, then you'll be able to flash the addons.
- YouTube vanced v14 is removed from this release as it is outdated
- Vanced Manager is added with default config value 0 (users can opt to install it by changing nikgapps.config)
- nikgapps.config is updated to v11, please make sure you are on latest config.

Always take backup before flashing if you care about your data. Dirty flash 'should' work but you need to be on latest nikgapps.config

New Release is up! (Q/R) (24th Jan 2021)

Changelog:
- Fixed an issue where sideloading of NikGapps packages failed
- Fixed an issue where the permissions were resetting upon dirty flashing NikGapps
- Mounting fixes (require feedback from users with dynamic partitions on space issue)
- Many under the hood improvements

This build is closest to stable Android 11.
Feedback is required so it can be moved to Stable Releases. :)

In case you're wondering why we're having random canary releases. Let me officially announce it for you.

We've decided to build NikGapps only when there is a change in installer noscript or there are playstore updates making the download worth your time.

The reason why we're doing this is because it doesn't motivate us or rather make sense in building Gapps unless there are some changes involved.

In last few days, we have been working on setting up the builds such that it recognizes whether or not there are significant changes made to the source or there are playstore updates. It's safe to say that we're 80% there.

We're also working on updating the changelog on the website with every canary release so that you are aware of the changes introduced and you know whether to download the new release or not.

Thank you for your support, so we are able to keep providing and improving our NikGapps packages for free to everyone who needs it.

We realized that we can't answer all the questions in support group because our team has been busy with personal stuff lately and it's leading into dissatisfaction from users that are facing some problems but we're trying to keep notes for bugs and stuff and we thank you for your reports.
