Is it worth buying older Nikon lenses for modern bodies?

Hi everyone!

I’m using a newer Nikon mirrorless and keep noticing older F-mount lenses selling cheaply. The reviews vary quite a bit, though. Some say they’re great for the price, while others complain that the autofocus is too slow or that the adapter ruins the experience. For anyone who’s tried combining old Nikon glass with new bodies, what was your experience? Are there lenses that offer more than their price suggests, or ones you’d steer clear of?

How good is the Z fc?

Like noscript. Going to buy a new camera, eyeing the a6400, Z50 ii and Z fc. I like the look of the Z fc much, much more than Z50 ii though (despite bad ergonomics and all). Will probably buy with 16-50 kit lens (I heard good things abt it) and buy a 50-250 later for plane spotting. Would it be a good combo? And... would it be appropriate to use a Z fc for that purpose? :D
