How come DSLRs hold their value tremendously well?

Since I've bought my first DSLR 2 years ago, I noticed the prices on the used market just went up... Sure, inflation has to do with it but what about depreciation? DSLRs seem to have completely stopped losing value and what's even more terrifying is that now even mirrorless bodies are being priced similarly.

For example, a well used D750 (70k+ shutter count) goes for 500e or more meanwhile Z5/Z6 in mint condition (under 15k shutter count) sell for only 200e more. Even the D800 doesn't have good samples under 400e but maybe all this is my local market shenanigans.

A lot of Z50 is already cheaper than D750 😭 and sure it's not the same sensor size but also consider the fact D7500 (and even D7200) is literally more expensive lmao.

What's going on? Are people starting to realize mirrorless could be worse (due to worse build quality, shorter battery life etc.) or something else is going on?

Question on what Full frame Camera to Get

Been using a Z50, and doing some wild life photography, had it for a year now and looking to upgrade to a full frame so i can shoot in better low light.

From my research the Z6 3 is great, but its megapixel are only just better then then z50, while the z8 doubles them both.

Any tips on which one i should go, or maybe there is a better one out there for me. Still not sure on my budget, but ATM if im going to spend the money to get a z6, i may as spent a bit more to get the z8 for the double mp?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Picture i took just to share.

Broken D7100 - whats next?!

Hello fellow nikon users,
Yesterday was a bad day....i dropped my beloved D7100 and it broke. Actually flash is non functional, screen is in pieces, couple of buttons got stuck and AF is off ( i dont know if that is possible).
I'm mainly using dslr to document life, shoot local sport games, travel, kids.
I recently bought backgrounds, strobe and couple of softboxes and started learning things about studi lighting. Got really into it, its really amazing what you can do with one strobe. I would lie if I said that the thought of opening studio for portraits, family photos and all that, because that niche is starting to get big in my area.
I m now sitting and trying to figute out which path to take, should i go Z or D way?
At the moment i own 35 and 50mm 1.8 G series prime, 80-200mm f2.8 and a Tokina 12-24 f4.
There are couple of D750 and D810 on marketplace for 600 and 750€.
But is it maybe a smart idea to invest a bit more and buy z5 II or zf? with 24-70 or 40 prime? Maybe thats the more safe way to go in case i decide to try myself profesionaly?

And I know that I cant just switch from hobby to pro over night, I plan to practice on my family and friends first. When I get comfortable with the results I would MAYBE jump om that shit and try my luck.

Thank you all in advance and sorry for the long post.
