US prosecutors have launched a criminal investigation into Facebook's practice of sharing users' data with companies without letting the social network's members know, The New York Times reported on Wednesday.
A grand jury in New York has subpoenaed information from at least two major smartphone makers about such arrangements with Facebook, according to the Times.

Bad news: Android Q root won't come anytime soon. Android Q has switched to logical partitions for the system block, which means there is no easy way to mount the block by any means. I'm currently thinking of what tricks can I do other than implement everything from scratch....
Things are not looking good 😅, even if I could, I might have to create a complete new Magisk just for Android Q. Android Q switched to this stupidly complicated logical device (device-mapper) + overlayfs madness just to support "Previewing GSIs" from data partition.
It will take me an extreme amount of time to figure out how to workaround all this mess. I won't expect Magisk to be even able to boot on Q in months.
After stepping back and taking a breath, I think I'll just have to figure out how to mount logical partitions and things should work. With normal EXT4 Android Q system images, things works just fine as previously demonstrated. Time to read some device-mapper documents...

For a long time the Americans smiled at the Europeans for how sensitive they were when it came to data protection - until an earthquake shook the USA a year ago: the analysis company Cambridge Analytica had gained unnoticed access to the data of 87 million Facebook users and fed Donald Trump's 2016 presidential election campaign with this information. Although Facebook had known about the data abuse for months, it did not inform those affected until the New York Times reported on it in March 2018.

Antivirus testing firm AV-Comparatives has analyzed 250 security applications for Android offered on Google Play and found that many of them either fail to detect threats or they are simply fake.
The applications reviewed by AV-Comparatives were tested against 2,000 malicious and 100 clean APKs, totaling over 500,000 test runs. Unsurprisingly, the tests showed that the products of reputable security firms such as Avast, Bitdefender, ESET, F-Secure, G-Data, Kaspersky, McAfee, Sophos, Symantec, Tencent, Trend Micro and Trustwave can detect all malware.
