Covid has revealed two kinds of pathological personalities that dominate our society. A) The explicit, sadistic fascist who demands vaccine mandates imposed on everyone, plus discrimination, detention or punishment against anyone unmasked or unvaccinated, or otherwise non-compliant with the health dictatorship; B) the kind who “sympathise” with your situation, feel sorry for the kids, remind you they don’t make the rules but are just following orders, and that they work for the regime because they “have kids to feed”. Psychopaths become leaders only because of collusion and complicity by these types.

Normality is impossible without repentance and atonement by most of those who voluntarily submitted to the mask and vaccine mandates, those who endorsed the lockdowns and the rule by decree, those who sneered at us for not colluding in this moral wrong. They have more political power. For this transformation to happen they must suffer the consequences of their collusion, severely and indefinitely if necessary. We must be willing to voluntarily suffer with them, for the sake of meaningful transformation. Our primary task is to maintain integrity, explain our moral position, and never collude, but it would be counterproductive to force any structural change against their will until the lesson is learned, or they will act the same way in every new emergency. At the same time, it is our lesson not to succumb to fear or panic, not to be consumed by false, apocalyptic narratives, not to be a tool in a fake revolution. Change will come from the masked and vaccinated, from the small-minded and cowardly, and it will take as long as it must.

The herd instinct is dangerous. When in an emotionally galvanised crowd it is nearly impossible to think as an individual, not without lifetime of training. The collective unconscious takes over, and this is a dangerous, often highly destructive, intoxicating, irrational, even cataclysmic state. The rulers were exploiting this phenomenon since times immemorial, to our collective peril.
