With double AP for linking and fielding, a lot of people are talking about doing field generators for extra AP. Here are some infographics about using battle beacons to maximize your AP. Note that the AP totals in the graphics are based on normal AP for linking and fielding. You'll get almost twice as much AP this week.

Details have emerged for part 2 of the Optima Kinetic Challenge. Starting this Friday September 17 through Monday September 27, all Kinetic Capsule programs started during the event will only require 2km of walking, and each one completed counts toward the Optima badge.
Your score for the event includes the capsules completed in part 1 this past March as well as those completed during part 2.

Niantic has announced the event schedule for the rest of 2021. On tap are events for Halloween, the Ingress 9-year anniversary, and New Years. Details in our event calendar.

Niantic has unveiled details and a medal design for the New Years 2022 event. 22 minute drone cooldown, 220 AP for each new portal visit, reduced Kinetic Capsule distance, and double AP for deploying frackers, beacons, fireworks, and battle beacons. Niantic has released the event schedule for the first quarter of 2022. It looks like there will be Battle Beacon events each month, Second Sunday will be moving to a new badge starting in February, and a lore-based event is coming late March.

Niantic has released details on the Kureze Effect event. The event will span 3 phases in January, February, and March and include both Niantic-deployed battle beacons in select cities and agent-deployed battle beacons anywhere.
It's a faction-vs-faction challenge, and individual agents who meet the participation threshold will earn a badge. These infographics describe both what it takes to earn the badge and what it takes to secure a win for your faction.
