Me: There are so many problems in the military right now, and the amount of shrieking and op-eds I've seen dedicated to generals and admirals being stymied from getting more stars and moving up the ladder far eclipses all of those problems combined. They've even gone so far as to claim it "threatens national security" if one of these flag O's doesn't get another star on their collar/chest.
What truly threatens national security is the failure of general officers to obey the law. This blockade on promotions stems from Sen. Tuberville throwing a wrench in the whole machine because the DOD, once again, refuses to obey the law. Much like their absurdly blatant violation of the law as it pertained to the mandate on emergency use vaccines, the use of tax payer money to fund abortions is also clearly banned in the Hyde Amendment and multiple other rulings. That hasn’t stopped the DOD from openly and brazenly breaking our nation’s laws, however. They act with impunity, then cry like scolded children to the same media who cover for their criminal conduct. The very purpose of the military is to defend the constitution of our nation, yet they stomp on it with zeal when they have purpose beyond what Congress has written into law.

So to say I’m unconcerned that a four star general has to put “acting” in front of his noscript, which somehow limits his ability to lead the Marine Corps, is an understatement. The purpose and direction of the Corps will not be affected in the slightest by someone having a few more letters in their noscript. What WILL affect the Corps is those same leaders refusing to follow the law. If the Corps is so concerned about not having an “official” commandant at the helm, then maybe they should start leading the way by openly letting the DOD and the Biden administration know they will no longer take part in the destruction of our constitution and will enforce the oath they took starting today.
