Hello everyone!
Custom ROMs are basically here, thanks to the continuous efforts of our Developers and Testers.

This is an announcement reminding potential custom ROM users to unlock their bootloaders and update to the latest firmware of NothingOS 3.2 :)

As for 2A+ users, there will be ROMs too, since the SoC is so similar to 2A.

Note: The initial ROMs that will be released will be YAAP (Yet Another AOSP Project) and LineageOS. These builds will be maintained by two different people respectively.

Please don't ask us for any other ROMs, because Elias and me are only going to maintain those two. I'm not saying it's impossible, but other ROMs will be done by other people.

Hello 2A community, custom ROMs have not been yet released because of Nothing's carelessness.

We need the Kernel from the latest release (Pacman-V3.2-250620-1021) to push ROMs for the public. And they're still hosting the older kernel from the initial release of 3.0, which doesn't match our vendor blobs.

The ROMs themselves are ready, the trees are stable and we don't need anything else to release them.

Also, Nothing is violating the GNU General Public License, like many other OEMs by not open sourcing the Kernel. Hello everyone,
Seems like our efforts from the last post did make an impact, and I am very thankful to everyone who retweeted that post and commented on the GitHub issue.

So Nothing did do something... but it's not what we want - these are the three commits they've done in their v branch:

The first and last commits are just a change in the readme, they have nothing to do with the code. (these readmes are a lie themselves btw)

But the second commit renames the kernel version to 5.15.167 from 5.15.149 in the Makefile.

You might be thinking that this is it, but unfortunately it is not. All they've done is change the name of the Kernel in their Makefile, but haven't actually merged the code from that kernel, this is like me changing the Makefile in a Kernel from 10 years ago to the latest mainline.

They're fake upstreaming the kernel, and this itself, again, violates the GPL-2 License.
