On September 27, 1983, computer scientist Richard Stallman announced the plan to develop the GNU, a free software operating system similar to Unix. The name GNU stands for "GNU's not Unix". GNU is the only operating system developed to defend user freedom, and it has remained consistent for forty years. It provides a complete and ethical alternative to proprietary operating systems. The history of the free software movement began with GNU. Zoë Kooyman, the executive director of the Free Software Foundation (FSF), stated that the GNU system is not only the most widely used operating system based on free software, but also the core of the philosophical concept guiding the free software movement for forty years. On September 27, the FSF will celebrate the 40th anniversary of GNU and the free software movement. Forty years later, free software is more important than ever, as software has deeply penetrated our daily lives, yet it cannot be controlled by most users.

One common question: I've noticed that most of the forks are almost on the same version of Telegram at the moment, 10.1.1, although the official Telegram is already advanced in another version (10.1.3). Is this because they just expect the pace of updates to stabilize or something else? Such as delays in the release of the code of the new versions, or idk. I was just curious.

This is no longer something that only happens in the last few versions, but, at least when I noticed it, it was a few months ago.

But the reason why they haven't released the code for so long is obvious. They don't want the forked version of telegram to be updated so early.

I guess this is mainly because many premium user-specific features are available for free in third-party clients, so they deliberately do this to get more people to use the official client to better promote premium subnoscriptions.

Telegram enforces penalties for sending Open Message links

Our users have reported that if you send a link that starts with tg open message (without spaces) to another user in a private chat, you may face consequences, including being kicked out of your account or receiving a spam ban. In some cases, the punishment may be even more severe, including the deletion of your account or the blocking of your phone number.

The @tginfo editorial team strongly advises against sending such links in private chats or any other types of chats (groups, bots, channels) in the near future.
