Movements don't just happen in the streets.

OTG: An encampment is being built by unhoused people at 22nd and Ben Franklin Parkway. If you want to follow their lead and help in any way they ask you to, please help them out. Ally points- ask what the organizers need from you before making an assumption about their needs.

Amistad Law Center is hosting a community speak out/people's testimony against police violence in Black and Brown communities from 1-3 today at the Octavious Catto statue, south side of city hall.

We've heard from a trusted source that police stating on scanner that they were going to terminate the encampment was an attempt to scare people to leave. When it caused more people to show up instead, the police left. They know we're listening.

Remember: Scanner means the police said it, not that it's true. We will continue monitoring them but take everything from the scanner with a grain of salt.

OTG: Folx at the encampment are setting up at 22nd and Parkway. There is a list of needs but be mindful that before you truck a bunch of shit down, check in with organizers or be prepared to take it back with you if they don't need it.

Needs are:
- People for shifts guarding the encampment and protecting the rights of the folx
- Tents (2 person + bigger)
- Tarps
- Water
- Food
- Soap
- Power
- Handwashing station

⬛️ Scanner - They're reading the text of the first amendment over radio again (as well as policies about when police are allowed to use violence, as though the policies are enforced). This sometimes means the police are about to confront some protesters. It's mostly just useless propaganda because they know we're listening but we know they don't care about the right to protest unless it's fascists doing it

Supply needs at the encampment at 22 and the pkwy:
Multiple tents still needed
Can opener
Your physical presence. The more people the better especially late at night. Remember, philly activists camped outside for 6 weeks 2 years ago. It's time for occupyphl round 3.
