I am so happy for them to finally be safe to come out of sanctuary. This is a liberating moment for them. They spent 843 days hiding in a West Philly Church Basement in sanctuary to escape violence in Jamaica and state violence from ICE in America until sanctuary was granted. One day, others will be able to leave sanctuary because we will have abolished their agressors.

Oneita and Clive Thompson recently received written confirmation that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will support their case to stay in the United States.
We have lost 2312 people to coronavirus in Philadelphia. Condolences to the families mourning the loss of a loved one. Please social distance everyone
OTG: Folks at 13th & Walnut are still in the process of being evicted and moved to the 15 years uninhabited halfway house in Kensington by the Licenses & Inspections workers loading them and their belongings into vehicles. As of today they are only moving “female residents” and forcing them to board two people in a room. Donations are still welcome to be dropped off as people come in and out of the hotel.
COME OUT TODAY BETWEEN 12 AND 6 to 600 E LUZURNE ST. Folks will be out collecting and distributing donations (leave what you can/take what you need) all day to support our neighbors staying in the city’s COVID prevention sites. UPDATE: drive at 1917 Oxford cancelled due to the site not being staffed/residents not moved in yet.
OTG: folks have set up a table and are hanging with residents. you have to turn into the parking lot and head to the front door but you can’t miss the table!
Philadelphia Police shot an killed an individual in Kensington early this morning. Happened on the 3300 Block of Emerald St.
Police are accusing the individual of being a gunman involved in an earlier shooting. However, it is not the job of Philly Police to be an executioner. Our condolences go out to families who will be with out their loved ones this holiday because of police violence in 2020. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but this makes 6 victims in Philly this year of extra judicial execution.

The police shot and killed the victims father. Not the gunman police say. A family lost more than just a son, but a father early Christmas Morning

Alleged gunman, teen dead in Philadelphia police-involved shooting; family claims suspect is innocent
Philadelphia police said the incident began as a fight over a parking spot and ended with two people dead.
Update on total Police involved shootings. This is number 34 for the year involving Philadelphia Police
34 in a year tells me Philly Police have not changed in decades. They dont deserve justification to continue being employed for that line of duty. Abolish the police, free the prisoners, and come up with a new system. There is no faith in justice when 34 times in a year the police play vigilante executioner on civilians and lie about it in the report. If police can commit crimes then the people can commit crimes. PPD has been in an arms race with it's people buying military equipment the past decade and that is not ok. These murders are not ok. This coverup is not ok.

A Philly developer shirked a deal to build affordable homes as housing officials stood by
Philadelphia Housing Development Corp. hasn’t explained why it let developer Chris Rahn shirk a deal he made to build affordable housing when he bought public land. It says it doesn't have to.
