Rally at the post office is still happening, if anyone wants to head down there and get plugged into the movement to save the post office
MSB is occupied by protesters demanding to speak to Brian Abernathy. The march is heading North up broad, apparently joined by Gritty's non binary, anti-fascist relative, Pritty. Stay hydrated y'all, eyes on the prize. Let's #defundppd and then work towards a better future where communities have self determination.

There are a handful of upcoming events, which can be found in detail at https://phillyprotest.com. Recurring events in Upper Darby and Germantown and a repeat of the "Clarion Call for Justice" at the Art Museum on Saturday at 1pm.

However, we would like to bring your attention to the interesting climate news that the US Southeast and Mid Atlantic are on the path of a large Dust Storm coming from the Sahara. For more info check this out: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bcNMHz-cd3k

Please wear a mask and be mindful of people who are not able to move inside during this kind of a climate event.
Yesterday was powerful as hundreds came out in the heat to both rally in solidarity with US Postal Workers (who might be our last chance to maintain even the mask of democracy our nation has) and to march against racist vigilantes and systemic racism from the police. Over 20 activists were arrested in the MSB demanding to talk to city manager Brian Abernathy, and as they were escorted out about 500 marchers showed up to demand that the city #defundPPD.

There isnt a March or rally today, but you can flood the social media of the city officials who make these decisions. Remember they think Philadelphian don't care about this issue enough for them to take action. Follow Amistad Law for more details!

Happy Friday, friends!

Gentle reminder- these events are simply the ones culled from social media and other public places. We are not vetting the organizers or organizations, so if you plan to go please research and see if it's something you want to do!

Protestors are occupying Hahnemann Hospital, the hospital that was closed last year to make way for more luxury lofts. Hahnemann served mainly low income North Philadelphia residents. Joel Freedman, the developer, then famously wanted to charge the city an insane amount of rent to use the hospital during COVID. Now that cases are spiking again (because cApiTalisM) Philadelphia needs the beds. Check @UR_Ninja on Twitter.
