The city has posted notices again planning evictions for the homeless in Kensington starting early in the morning on Wednesday August 18th. On that morning and throughout the day people will need help carrying their stuff away from the police and need witnesses just being present with phones to deter excessive police harassment and violence. In the meantime, people are harassed by police and city workers early every single morning (Streets Department Monday Wednesday and Friday. CLIP Tuesdays and Thursdays.) When a lawsuit was filed recently these sweeps briefly stopped. The lawsuit will likely be refiled but in the meantime help is needed. Please reach out to the tip bot to get involved.

Mayor Kenney would like you to think that homelessness is a hard problem to solve, and that he's doing just the best he can. We know this is false, and that this city under his leadership is actively causing harm to people who are unhoused.

Join with ACT UP Philly in protesting outside Mayor Kenney's residence to demand immediate action to END ALL EVICTIONS - including encampment and shelter evictions and radically improve housing and homeless services in this city.

This week's protest will include a BBQ so come hungry and ready to roast Mayor Kenney for his failures🔥 We'll have vegan + meat on the grill, delicious sides, cold water, and hot tunes for dancing, plus speakers, art, and more!
