Los Angeles July 21st Strike - Rideshare Drivers United
Website update and The Raven Corps
I must say, I like the new look of Octoberstrike.com very much. The most intriguing addition, however, is the new "Who is backing this" section. It seems we're now receiving support from a youth activist organization called the Raven Corps. If you aren't familiar with them, take a look at their website --> https://www.theravencorps.org/
What are your thoughts on this? Are the Ravens going to be an asset to us? Do you trust them?

Opinion - Add "boycott FAANG companies for 30+ days" as an action item in addition to the strike
Some people, for a variety of reasons, will absolutely not be able to strike with the masses. Capitalism places people in dire situations, so choosing between a much needed job (that provides for your family) and the chance for real change might be a hard decision for some.
Why not also boycott the FAANG companies in addition? It's longer lasting and can see greater return than a one day strike if enough people stay committed to it for long enough.

Why one day? What is the long term impact?
Edit: I know it is supposed to last more than one day. I guess what my main point is that, the idea is there, we know that. As many have pointed out, what is the overall plan? What keeps it going. More than 50% of India's population just did this and then some due to new agricultural laws that were essentially punishing the poor for doing hard labor. The difference there though is that India actively used the tools and the means of their production to vandalize, to break down, to dismantle literal governmental entities of Oppression. How are we doing that by just not working? Basically, where's the meat and potatoes of this general strike? Yeah we don't work, we don't shop, we don't consume. How are we as a community, a nation supposed to bind together to provide without consumption of these commonplace things that we use everyday? Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but just taking this single action of not working doesn't hurt the corporate ruling class more than it does us. How is it not going to turn into influencers, celebrities, any other Rich fuck co-opting another Revolution like they did the uprising and Occupy Wall Street and make it a fucking fashion statement or virtue signaling. I believe in this I really want to but, I just don't see organization. I know I can be veiwing this through a negative jaded lense abd thats why I just wanted an outside opinion other than read the flyer. Either way, stay safe, bring masks and water, and stay together.
First off; Im 100% for this and planning for it already. However, I have a question as to why just one day? Im very certain there will be groups who go beyond just the 15th but Im concerned that it will lose pace like the Uprising of last year. I do understand that there were MANY factors as to why the uprising from last year started to dwindle down in numbers but, Idk. I have faith that this will work in us being heard but maybe I just need a more optimistic view. Thanks for any comments.
