I've made a couple of fliers, stickers, etc for a smaller group. Feel free to use them

Hey! Anyone here from the 757/ Hampton Roads area of Virginia? I’m a college student so I won’t have a job during the strike but would love to help support those who are striking!

Spanish (or any other) Language Resources?

Can someone make designs for flyers in Spanish or any other languages?

If visibility and spread of information is really the key to making this happen, then we need information that is accessible to everyone. I specifically am asking about Spanish because Latinx workers are a huge part of the US workforce and I feel not having any resources in Spanish is just asking to miss out on including an already marginalised and exploited group of workers.

3 Questions

1. How long do you think this will last?

2. Will there be any other types of protest that follow this to further push the motive?

3. How possible is it for communities to band together and help each other out in order to sustain health of those who are jobless?

Could work if participation was in the millions and the strike lasted months.

The strike would definitely have to go on for more than 1 day. Realistically, there would need to be a complete halt of all labor and spending for 1-3 months minimum.
But this is a plan that with enough participation and time would 100% work. A general strike truly is the solution, if only we had millions who pledged to do it for months straight.

Change the branding. People won't buy into a one day strike because it won't likely be effective. If Oct 15 is just the start date, make that clear. If not rethink the strategy.

I'd love to participate, I'm just getting so annoyed every time I see people promoting what looks like a one day strike.

1877 Railroad strike lasted a month and a half - succeeded
1919 Seattle strike lasted 5 days - failed
1934 West coast strikes lasted 83 days - succeeded

People need to be prepared for a longer strike if we want success

Quick question from a newbie striker

I'm so excited because I've always wanted to be part of a strike. However, I do have some questions.

I'm starting University soon (I'm 34 for reference, going back to finish my degree). I have a work study job that involves helping people with writing term papers, etc. Obviously, I'm full solidarity 100%, so I'll do my part.

Okay, the questions:
1) Would attending my classes be considered crossing the picket line?

2)If I still worked with students on my own time without getting paid with their writing, would that be considered crossing the picket line?

3)What, in your experiences, are the best ways to get students and faculty to join the movement?
