Its been a few months coming but I have finally finished my "poor man's victron knock off buss bar". Wife didn't like the exposed bus bars I had in the original system so I found 8mm x 30mm tin plated bar stock on line and bought a meter of it. I routered out slots using a jig in some PVC board to hold them. And finally made a plexiglass cover for them.
Of note, the battery cables are intentionally run left to right on the top bar and right to left on the bottom bar. That makes the algebraic sum on the distance to the shunt the same for all batteries.

Kudos where they are due... For 48v MPPT battery chargers I use Morningstar Tristar 600v 3kw chargers. They are expensive. But tech support is off the chain. I wrote code to read the voltage and amps every 15 seconds from them, but now would like to be able to remotely command them to charge at varying amps depending on how much power my entire system is exporting. If my exporting is <20kw, then I want to command these things to run as hard as they can.
So their tech support guy wrote me back at 10pm last night with all the info I needed. wow.

I missed this last year.... Solark has an exclusive agreement with Deye in China to sell rebranded Deye inverters under the name SolArk in the North America. Some Deye units were imported into countries like Panama and the US. Since it's difficult to read data from these inverters directly, most people connect their wifi dongle to the inverter and access stats from the inverter via a smart phone app. Problem is that the mothership is in China.
So apparently at the request of SolArk, November 2024 Deye nuked all inverters that were using north american IP addresses that were not SolArk. While this is their prerogative, it's a dick move.
If we extrapolate from this, lots of EG4 inverters are also acessed via smart phone apps via the mothership in china.
I think some guys are developing ESP32 processors to give the same smart phone or home assistant functionality wihtout the mothership. I'll see what I can find.
