XDA's OnePlus 8 review. Lot of fuckups here. There's no case included, the display has issues with brightness and black clipping and the camera is not very good. They seem to think the 7T is better.

XDA's OnePlus 8 Pro review: The camera is inconsistent, the oil painting effect is still present and there are a few bugs in the software. Haptics seem to be a downgrade over the 7 Pro.

OnePlus: We could not include wireless charging and an IP rating on the OnePlus 8 because we'd have to hike the price even more.

Apple: Wireless charging and an IP rating are standard on the SE.

You may be asking, what does this mean?

Well, to make it short OnePlus somehow managed to make closed beta reports publicly available on their feedback page https://forums.oneplus.com/feedback/

Ok but where is the fuckup?

Well, there were some bug reports in those threads.
They included Google Drive links of logs collected via OPLogkit, which for those of you which are not familliar with it is the application used for debugging purpose in every software OnePlus releases.
It can be triggered via stock dialer by typing *#800#, selecting Enter and clicking on "Save log".
It collects a lot of PII and store a getprop output in generated files located in oem_log folder at the root of your internal storage.

That way, I (and probably a lot of other people) have been able to collect information including but not limited to device IMEI and serial number, which as you may know can be used to declare device stolen and get it blocked from every carrier in the world.

We also learnt that Android 10 closed beta for 5-series just started as persist.sys.version.lastota value is OnePlus5Oxygen_23.J.54_GLO_054_2002242016, which is OOS 9.0.11

Should you wish to double check that, feel free to change your ro.build.fingerprint value to OnePlus/OnePlus5/OnePlus5:10/QKQ1.191014.012/2003241826:user/release-keys, ro.build.version.security_patch to 2020-02-05, reboot your device and check if your device pass SafetyNet.
