Most of what we have learned our world to be, is nothing what we actually know OF it. For many and probably most, it's too scary of a reality to look at what the real truths are: To know that we have been fooled and used on this realm for an eternity.

If we think of our mind/consciousness as a computer, the only way to upload the programs is by..."downloading" and for the great majority of us it is UNCONSCIOUSLY. It is the matrix. And the Matrix is using our consciousness as THEIR computer to PROGRAM us to who they want us to be. How they want to control us. What they want us to think and become.
