Situational awareness … deception becomes easy to spot if you know the patterns….

Psychopaths "pull you in by becoming what you need" — they mirror or adapt to appear as exactly what the target person wants to see/hear.
This creates a cognitive blind spot: Once your brain decides "I like this person," it jumps to "I trust this person," causing you to ignore red flags.
Contrast with narcissists: They can only keep up the perfect facade for a short time (around 2-3 hours). After that, "cracks" start showing because maintaining it is exhausting for them.

Specific "cracks" mentioned as warning signs when the mask slips:
- Sudden lack of facial expressions (flat affect).
- Breathing shifts from natural diaphragmatic (stomach) breathing to shallow chest breathing.
- Visible increase in stress (because their actions aren't genuine/demonstrative).
- Overall shift from steady, fluid behavior/good posture/eye contact to something more rigid or performative.

Trust your gut when something feels "too perfect" at first but starts feeling off, and pay attention to body language shifts as potential signs of deception or personality pathology.
