Had a conversation this morning with someone who was struggling with an abusive relationship. We have all experienced this in one form or another.

Our successes in relationships depend on us picking up on the intention of their words, but more importantly non verbal communication.

Equally important is understanding where they are coming from. If we miss as the Bible says … “walking I their shoes” or looking at things from their perspective … we will always have conflict. And humans usually feel compelled to justify their actions … right or wrong.

Not saying that anyone is right or wrong but the goal is to achieve a flow of communication to achieve peace.

So in horse training which is all about communication … It starts with listening and not responding.

But here is a short cut moving from horses to an easier analogy for humans to relate to reflecting on the differences between dogs and cats. Think about dogs and cats. Typically Dogs are always happy to see you and celebrate every little thing in life. Typically Cats are conditional and decide terms and conditions … they allow you into “their plan” when they deem you worthy.

So it is with people. There are all sorts of metaphors we could use to describe human behavior … which is typically fear based.

Some people sit “licking their cat paws” in judgement and want the worship for all of their opinions. You are always in their terms to be in relationship …

Or

Some are an unconditional soul who will run with you … love you for who you are … appreciate you … and want to get to know you as the way God created you. They want to hear what you have to say and don’t base their reactions on their high and mighty judgements of your choices. They feel loyal, protective and safe.

Which would you put your time into? Maybe either or both. But chasing the cat for approval will only keep you in bondage based on your performance. Playing with the dog personality … will bring pure joy.

With that said I like both personalities … I just refuse to let the cat personality manipulate me.

No more than I would let a 1/2 ton horse push me around… and like humans they can heave either a cat or dog personality. Try it it’s freeing!!

One more thing on the dog and cat analogy above …

The current game is being run by foxes … not dogs or cats.

The opinionated cats are the problem. So what do you do to keep them out of the way?? Get a laser pointed and watch them run all over the place until they are exhausted.

Remember that when you read social media or any messages … it’s 99.9% laser pointer to keep the opinionated cats busy. And the laser pointer … it’s being run by foxes .. who are way more cunning than either dogs or cats … higher IQ and experts in survival.

1. There is no First Amd right - of protest OR of the press - to enter a house of worship and shut down a religious service. Lemon had no “right” to be there, as a journalist or protester.

2. Churches have statutory protection under the FACE Act that make it clear that disrupting/interfering with the service/access of parishioners to the service is a criminal act. You don’t get a pass just bc you say “oh, I intended to come in here - where I am not allowed - to interfere with your church service by sticking a mic in ppl’s faces, but it is ok bc I’m doing it for my YouTube channel!”

3. If lemon had stayed on the sidewalk, as every journo knows we must do when covering a story on private property unless we have advance permission to enter (we all deal with this - it’s a pain in the neck to get permission sometimes, and it often means we miss the best pictures BUT WE COMPLY WITH THE LAW BC WE ALL KNOW PRIVATE PROPERTY CHANGES OUR RIGHTS), this would be a different case. He didn’t. He trespassed, and not just into a private home or business (which could have resulted in a trespass case) - but into a church in the middle of a service, which unfortunately for Lemon invokes all sorts of ROCK SOLID rights of the church-goers. In short, he chose the wrong event to storm. Ppl were hurt. They were scared. He knew it and his comments on cam prove he knew it.

He broke the law. He’s not only going to be prosecuted, he’s going to be sued. For a lot of money. And he should.
