EVERGRANDE CONTAGION: China Eases Mortgages for Rest of the Year (Bloomberg Report)

China is loosening restrictions on home loans at some of its largest banks, apparently adding to signs of growing concern by authorities about contagion from the debt crisis at China Evergrande Group.

Financial regulators told some major banks late last month to accelerate approval of mortgages in the last quarter, according to Bloomberg sources. Lenders reportedly also permitted to apply to sell securities backed by residential mortgages to free up loan quotas, easing a ban imposed early this year.

Fears of risks spreading outwards intensified over the past two weeks after a surprise default by Fantasia Holdings Group Co. and a warning from Sinic Holdings Group Co. that its default was imminent.

Homeland Security will release ‘low concentrations of safe particle and gas tracer materials’ 📎 around various locations including parks and subway stations. The simulation will enable researchers and agencies to get insight into the a possible biological attack in an urban environment.

Italian Dock Workers BLOCKADE Major Port in Anti-Green Pass Protests

Thousands of picketing port workers are attempting to seriously disrupt Italy’s supply chains – blockading Trieste, the country’s most important commercial hub, as they demand the govt overturn the compulsory imposition of the Green Pass.

As of Friday, Italian citizens must show their Green Pass in the workplace or face suspension with no pay - proving they have had either at least one vaccine dose, recovered from the illness in the last six months, or tested negative in the last 48 hours.

According to estimates, some 40% of Trieste workers have not been jabbed while 2.5mn Italians in total remain unvaccinated.
