CoinMarketCap HACKED — over 3 MILLION user email addresses being sold on hacking forums
The subsidiary of Binance has allegedly fallen victim to a hack which leaked the data of over 3.1 million users, Have I Been Pwned reported.
The price-tracking website for crypto said in a statement that, “the data lists we have seen are only email addresses, [and] we have found a correlation with our subscriber base.”
The company has assured its users the hackers did not gain access to any of the account passwords.

South Korea’s second-largest telco company suffers NATIONWIDE outage (Reports)
KT Corporation suffered a major outage Monday - leaving 16.5 million customers without internet or phone services for 40 minutes in South Korea, BleepingComputer reported.
A DDos attack was initially thought to be responsible for the outage initially, the firm later communicated it was a routing error that downed the company’s services.

Gitmo Bay Frees Innocent Pakistani Taxi Driver after holding him for 17 years without charge (Reports)
Ahmed Rabbani has been unanimously cleared for release by Guantanamo Bay’s Periodic Review Board, made up of senior officials from six US agencies, human rights NGO Reprieve announced on Twitter.
Rabbani spent over 545 days in a CIA “black site” in Afghanistan before being transferred to GITMO where he was held for over 17 years, allegedly being subject to torture and sleep deprivation.
According to Reprieve, Rabbani’s interrogators knew “they had the wrong man.” Despite this, he is now only returning to Pakistan where he will be able to hug his 19-year-old son for the first time.

Russian sailors prevent hijacking of Panamanian ship near the Gulf of Guinea
The anti-submarine ship Vice-Admiral Kulakov received a distress signal from the Lucia, a Panamanian-flagged container ship sailing from Togo to Cameroon, the Russian MoD said.
A helicopter carrying a marine corps unit was dispatched to defend the vessel from the pirates who were approaching it by fast boat.
The marines then boarded the ship as the high-speed boat retreated towards the African coast line.
