Facebook-owned platform WhatsApp will cease to function next week on many older smartphone models, as requirements shift for iOS and Android systems.
Apple, Samsung, Huawei and Sony are all among the brands with models due to be affected. Systems older than Android’s OS 4.1 or iOS 10 will no longer be able to update patches, while a few will reportedly lose security features.
