As developer China Evergrande Group scrambles to meet its debt obligations, its founder is freeing up funds from luxury assets including art, calligraphy and three high-end homes, according to filings and a person with knowledge of the matter.

Sri Lanka shuts only oil refinery due to dollar shortage
The refinery closed Monday after running out of dollars to import crude oil, amid an escalating economic crisis which has triggered mass food and supply shortages in the country.
International rating agencies have downgraded Sri Lanka’s credit worthiness as the economy shrank by an unprecedented 3.6% last year.
Top Sri Lankan officials have warned of fuel rationing by the end of the year unless consumption is cut drastically – while the country’s energy minister said it was the first time the Sapugaskanda refinery has been shut down since it was built by Iran in 1969.
