Crypto Crisis: Bitcoin value plummets below $60k
After recent near-record highs, cryptocurrencies have plunged in value amid a tightening of regulations on digital assets. Bitcoin and Ether both dropping a whopping 8% this week alone.
Coinbase is currently showing Bitcoin value under $60k - an amazing fall from recent highs. The drop comes after China warned it will continue its push to clean up virtual currency mining in the country.

Prague reported its fifth 10k+ case day in the last week on Monday, leaving outgoing PM Andrej Babis to consider following in Austria’s footsteps in adopting a strict lockdown for unvaccinated citizens.
Ministers reportedly are advocating softer measures ahead of a government meeting on Thursday when a range of possible new measures will be discussed.
According to official figures, the Czech Republic has seen hospitalizations shoot up to 4,296 with 635 allegedly in serious condition from Covid.

An atmospheric river rainfall event on Sunday and Monday caused extensive damage and many landslides in British Columbia, Canada – with part of the Coquihalla Highway washed away by flash floods.
The intense storm that bombarded the southern part of the province forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes on Monday, including the entire community of Merritt – some 7,000 residents.
