Ceasefire talks between the Junta and TNLA hosted by China in Kunming have failed completely as soon as they began.
The Junta has launched a counteroffensive against the TNLA which has already retaken a significant amount of territory and is poised to retake even more.
The TNLA had offered the Junta the return of both Kyaukme and Hsipaw, two of the biggest towns the TNLA had captured, in exchange for a ceasefire.
The Junta rejected it outright and demanded the return of all territory captured by the TNLA since 2022, which the TNLA rejected.
The Junta is seemingly confident that they will be able to retake the towns by force and does not need to compromise
