Marijuana is now classified as schedule 3 drug instead of schedule 1 drug (harshest).
🏥✔️
This makes it legal to possess when prescribed by a doctor.
➖️
Max possession charges will remain the same (1y) but prosecution will be much less likely to persue them.
🛠✔️
Max charges for manufacturing, distribution from life to 10 years. While it removes minimum charges based on quantity grown/distributed.

🇦🇺 📝 Australia will soon be reforming our Firearm laws to be even stricter, likely limiting the number of firearms a person can own as well as stopping Non-Citizens from obtaining firearms. There is some talk about changing the legality of types of firearms, however im not certain this will happen.
📝 Our Prime Minister has announced a scheme which Parliament will vote on - This scheme is a remake of the buyback initiative in 1996, allowing Australians to surrender their surplus/illegal firearms in return for money (this will likely send our country broke again).
📝 Our conservative party (The Liberal Party) is backing the scheme because of the pressure from the jewish community, so these law reforms are likely to pass unanimously.
📝 I have been waiting for a response from the organisations that are meant to stop more firearm restrictions, however they are mostly silent or passive.

Potential connection with the shooter and a motive. The MIT victim was also Portuguese.
According to records from Instituto Superior Técnico (I.S.T.), the preeminent engineering school, a person named Claudio Neves-Valente was terminated from a monitor position in February of 2000, the same year that Loureiro graduated from I.S.T.
Further, his time at Brown was for his PhD work in Physics. While the hall he attacked is primarily an engineering school, there are a lot of physics labs that require the equipment in the Barus & Holley building. This building would have been well known to the shooter.
An interesting note, the shooter only logged 3 years at Brown before withdrawing. A usual PhD residency is four years.
The picture paints a man who failed in two countries and crashed out.

🇦🇺 Six men were detained in Sydney during a law enforcement operation which saw Police use a LandCruiser to ram a White Hyundai. ✍️ The media is currently reporting the men were headed to Bondi and Police acted on intelligence received from ASIO (Australian…
🇦🇺 A few updates on those detained:
- Police have let them go, despite one or two of them being on a government watchlist.
- The lawyer for the men told the media that they were going to Bondi on holiday but are considering suing police due to the injuries sustained when police rammed their car off the road before the arrest. They also deny allegations of Extremist Ideology.
- Police have stated that the only weapon they found in the car was a knife (singular). Police believe the men adhere to a radical form of Islam.
- The operation which was possibly meant to repair the public image of the police and the intelligence agency after their lack of action in Bondi has backfired.
