🇸🇾 - The Syrian Presidency announced a preliminary understanding with the Syrian Democratic Forces on the future of Hasakah and the framework for military and administrative integration.

The SDF has been given four days to consult internally and submit a detailed plan for implementation.

Under the arrangement, Syrian forces will remain outside the centres of Hasakah and Qamishli if an agreement is reached, while Kurdish villages will be secured only by local forces.

Mazloum Abdi is expected to nominate a candidate for assistant defence minister, as well as propose a governor for Hasakah and representatives for parliament and state institutions.

All SDF military and security units are to be merged into the Ministries of Defence and Interior, while civilian bodies will be absorbed into the state system.

The deal also includes enforcement of Decree 13 on Kurdish language, cultural rights and citizenship, with implementation scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
