Attention: our National Parks are at risk of being vandalized and trashed. If the government shuts down on wed, there is a good chance that the National Parks will remain open with no staff able to work to stop illegal activity. The last time this happened was in 2019. Trees were chopped down, dumpsters overflowed, ATVs trespassed on park lands and tore up Death Valley.
Please contact your representatives and demand they SHUT THE PARKS DOWN ON WEDNESDAY. Our seasonal staff are ending their employment, including janitorial services, and visitation is still very high. We have had no contact from higher ups if the Parks will remain open or not so we can assume they will stay open otherwise.
If you want to see the government take care of the lands they have been charged with protecting, then contact your reps before wed.
